Holes in your hose? Sheesh, that's a fair amount of rubbing.
I've searched this, and I'm hoping I'm wrong...
Ha! You're not kidding Nate. When I first saw the hole in the hose, I actually flipped it around to put a good portion where the damaged section prevously was. I thought "Nice! That's a smart move!" Well little did I know that within about 2 hours, a new hole was already made. I think where the underside of the hood was coming down, was right at the tip of that right-side BPV nipple, and that's why the gouges happened so quickly. Anyway....
Update #3:
I got the BPV tilted to just a couple of degrees shy of horizontal, and thankfully the hex screws were still able to lock it down. I'm sure I'll be well-served to check and retorque them after a hundred miles or so, but things look good. Having it angled like it is, has put a very slight kink into the recirc hose, but it's very minimal. I figure that's a much smaller issue, than having holes punched on the opposite side. Either way, I did my patented "saliva clearance test", and after closing the hood a couple 2 or 3 solid times, not a single drip on the underside of the hood! Now all I need is a new section of vacuum hose, and hopefully I can get that off of Groove Mazda in the AM.
To the original point of this thread though, I still have my recirc flutter when I actuate against high pressure. Maybe like Eric was saying, a new map will help me out. I have to say though, that I do like the performance for the map I've alway used. I realize we don't have 93 octane here in CO, but I do fill with 91, and from everything I've read, being at high altitude like we are has a similar effect to having higher octane anyway. (?) None the less, things are improving!

Oh hey Eric... Why is it that the maps that get created for the MS3, aren't ported over to the MS6 side? I read earlier, where you suggested I should maybe find a more suitable MS3 map for my hardware, but I guess my question is if you consider them somewhat interchangable, why doesn't Cobb?

I've considered going with a different BPV, but I'm wondering what the likelyhood is of that wastegate flutter, that I quoted on page one? I mean maybe I had this flutter all along, but never heard it because of the stock TMIC plastic cover? I don't understand what about having a new IC would cause something like this? Not to mention that when I got back to stock settings, the symptom seems to go away. (?)
I think I'm just going to data log against this map once I get a new piece of tubing, and see what's what. I mean if compressor surge is something that happens also under throttle, then that's something I'm not having, so that's a bit of a relief. Plus I like the idea of running one of the closely matched MS3 maps from Cobb, based on my hardware; but like I asked earlier, I'm just curious why they don't port over to the MS6 listings (?). I suppose I could contact Cobb and try and ask them.
I think maybe I should just bite the bullet, and get a test pipe and professional tune sometime soon. I'm not out to build a racer, but I'm about out of bolt on parts, and I want to make sure I'm getting good power from my engine, but under safe conditions.

Ha ha, just to clarify- I didn't mean to say the problem *is* the TMIC, but just the addition of the TMIC would lead me to think that's what's making the symptoms present themselves.

I understand Nate. Obviously something about putting that badboy on, has seemed to be a contributing factor to this new sound.
On another positive note though, Groove Mazda this morning (awesome as ever) hooked me up with a freebie piece of vacuum hose. It's installed on the car now, and still no hood interference, but I haven't had a chance yet to really give it the whip, and see if the flutter is still present. More to come....

Yea I would test it with the new hose before doing anything else. If there was a hole in the hose that's a boost leak right there and could easily affect things. So test it out now that the hose is fixed and see what happens.
Oh, and I was wrong about the maps. You do need an MS6 map, not an MS3 one. I don't know why Cobb stopped making maps for the MS6. I guess because they stopped making the car they decided they didn't need to support it anymore.

Problem Solved:
After work today I had the opportunity to get some proper highway miles in, and everything is back to awesome. I guess more accurately, things are better than they were! The hose that was put in place (along with correcting that hood/hose pinch failure) seems to have cured my ills, and the car is running like a freaking monster now.
It took a good 10 or 15 minutes of driving up and down the rev-range, but after the ECU sorted itself out, the car seemed to be making BIG power. Snappier throttle response, stronger pull under WOT and partial throttle; even the bypass was normal, with crisp (non-reverb!) actuation... I don't know what type of gains you're supposed to get out of a TMIC, but I sure do like what I'm seeing so far. KR was back to mostly non-existent, and my LTFT were steady at 3 @ idle. I'm going to have to do some comparo audits against old data logs, but if I'm not mistaken, this is the highest I've seen my boost as well.

Glad it's working for you. That TMIC made a huge difference on my MS3 too. Only I didn't have the AP yet when I first put it on so I was hitting cuts all over the place lol.
But yea, a hole in one of those hoses causes a boost leak which can cause all sorts of issues. When I had a cap pop off of one of those hoses, my car was dropping to 17+AFR at idle and throwing a CEL for too lean at idle. Glad you caught the problem and were able to fix it before it got worse.
