I believe I have seen this car in person. It is a nice ride and I believe it was one of the first Monsters. A pretty penny to own it though!

Monster Miata
Wow, I think that guy is dreaming. Here's a breakdown of cost of someone else's project, minus the supercharger of course, but that can be had for 3-4,000 I think. Maybe even less.

I'm also pretty sure Ron (coloskydiver) has spent this much or less on his. So to add 10+ grand to that on the selling price seems crazy. I'm sure he's trying to recover what he spent on building it plus make a profit, but it just doesn't work that way.
He also claims it's only 50lbs heavier than stock, when the engine conversion is supposed to add 250lbs according to MonsterMiata.com. So unless he was able to find 200lbs to pull out of the car somewhere, I don't think that's true either. It would be tough to pull 200lbs out of a Miata.

I saw either this car or a very similar car a few years back. The one I saw was converted by Monster Miata back in the erly to mid 90's. Unsure this is the same car, but a good possibility. There is some "cool" factor of owning an early original, but not for that price. Agreed it is a big bill to move into a V8 Miata.
I would rather save up the extra $2,627 and buy a Lotus!
