There's a reason that rotaries are popular with single prop small aircrafts...if they blow you still have enough power to safely land or even get to your destination, and they are cheaper to maintain.

But Eric, we need to look into where we want to stay and stuff so I can start planning this out. I should be single turbo by then as well!

Well I'd like to stay in Nanth-whatever village if possible, but we'll have to make reservations as soon as we're allowed to register for the event. Those cabins disappear fast.

How do I get randomly mentioned in Eric an chicken's threads all the time?!
Jon: my car runs and won't be dead anytime soon with a blown motor
reason why it sat at eric's cause he didn't trust me driving it
Home and same reason why it's at pats lol.

Chicken: I was gonna still go to dgrr but gas prices went above 4.00$ down south (for 85 here in FL it's 3.85$/gal) and my car acting up lol

Eric: if you DO end up renting a cabin, I'll pitch in and start saving. We really need to get more than 2+ people. When I called and finally spoke with a rep (they suck at answering phone calls and emails) the person I spoke to said it's 200$ a night roughly. Even with dgrr discounts. I can only imagine without.... :o

The DGRR discount isn't too much anyways.

We don't want a full house so I'm not positive how many people we can get safely into a cabin. I know they have different cabins available with multiple bedrooms. I plan on bringing my wife as well, hopefully.

So I think the St Mays duals are too quiet for me....putting the Blitz back on and selling the St Mays. Not looking forward to shipping it though, haha.

Also debating on a turbo manifold. I currently have a cheapie eBay manifold and I cut off the eBay Wastegate flange so I can weld on a TiAL v-band flange. But I keep hearing horror story after story about these manifold warping and cracking. The manifold I really want is the Full Race twin scroll TIG welded manfiold...but it uses twin 38mm gates. So if I buy a 44mm gate for this manifold and then scrap it I need to sell everything and rebuy it all...so I'm debating if I should just save up for the $1100 Full Race manifold and the twin TiAL 38mm gates or take my chances with the eBay manifold...

I was using the Megan Racing manifold on my first turbo, and I believe that's pretty similar to the eBay manifold, and I never had any problems with it. I'm not sure if it was perfectly flat to mate with the turbo flange though.

Oh yeah? I might just try this eBay special manifold out then. I have a welder and can weld it if it cracks...I also thought about welding on some support braces from engine flange to turbo flange but it's kind of difficult the way the piping is run.

I was also thinking about cutting off the current wastegate runners and welding the piping smooth then welding in twin TiAL MVS 38mm wastegate v-band flanges so I can run twin wastegates on the crappy manifold. That way if I do switch to the Full Race manifold down the line I will only have to swap manifolds and not worry about the wastegates.

^That CXRacing manifold looks identical to my eBay manifold...CXRacing is an eBay brand so it's safe to say that it's the same.

As long as I don't run crazy EGTs for sustained periods of time I think I'll be fine. But eventually I want to run a Full Race twin scroll manifold with twin TiAL MVS 38mm gates:
