The 1.6 got seats with thinner padding. Better for some of us who are 6' tall as it allows me to sit back an extra inch or so and also sit about an inch or so lower.

The 1.8 cars have noticeably more padding. They are a direct swap and most people wouldn't even know the difference as the design is almost identical. Might be harder to find a set though.

Must be the extra padding in my ***, but I drive my 90 an hour each way to work and don't find it uncomfortable.

I feel almost the same way.... I'm about 6'2" 215 lbs and am fairly comfortable in my '90... well, the seats are fine, but the suspension is pretty effin' stiff haha.

It also depends on the roads. I have driven to C-Springs, no problem. I have also driven to Ft Collins, which is the same distance, and it was a miserable ride. I-25 that direction is smoother now, but it used to be torture. Also, my 94 was a much harsher ride with the lowered springs. My wife's 99 rides so much smoother.

Yea Powers in C Springs is brutal these days between Dublin and Galley. Even taking the coilovers off and putting brand new shocks with stock springs it's pretty rough in the Miata.
