Could anyone set up a dyno day?

Could anyone set up a dyno day? Would there be enough members to make it worth it? And where would be a good place to do it at? Sorry for the noobie questions, but thanks for the info!

I know we've tried to get some going in the past, but nothing really happened. To be honest we won't have the turn out required to get it real cheap, so everyone is looking at dropping $70+ for 3 baseline pulls, no tuning allowed.

I know Harvey pretty well up at Boost Creep in Longmont and I can talk to him about it. Another good option is MAC. Harvey uses a Dyno Dynamics dyno which reads more accurately (i.e. low) and Harvey doesn't like using correction factors. MAC uses a pretty inflated DynoJet with a high correction factor so you get loftier numbers. But I digress, comparing two different dynos is apples to oranges...

Ok, well now that I have adjusted my jets for the last time, I am ready to put it on the dyno. It transitions like butter now. So I guess, I will start a list and see if anyone else with mods wants to jump on board.

I'd be very interested in finding out where I'm at stock for when I do start modding (yes, it will come at some point), but I've gotta get a new engine first (which should happen soon I hope).

You or anyone else can say that all you want, but fact of the matter is that you aren't going to change my mind. I can try saving money all I want, but the car isn't mine to sell and keep the money, so I get nothing there, I will have no major steady income for at least 5 more years, and until then, this is what I've got. So I'd much rather spend my money building it and making it something I can enjoy rather than think about what won't happen for at least 10 years. Because even once I do graduate college and get a job (if I don't go back to grad school which is more than likely to happen), any money I do make won't be enough for a "fast" stock car.

i would honestly never mod a mazda6 unless it was a speed i agree with erod dont waste the money save the money you want for parts and do something useful like go by friends or something or save it for college since your like 12

OK, for starters this is a thread about a dyno day. This is not a talk shit about others thread. Find somewhere else to crap on than my thread. And if he wants to mod something, what is the problem? It must have been nice to be 16 and have your parents by you an expensive car. Either that or you spent some money on things for your car that you looked at later as a waste. But it was part of growing. But really, calling people 12 years old doesn't make you sound big or manly or anything. So don't do it here.

I know it's rated 160hp by mazda, but that's before altitude and drivetrain losses, so I wanna figure out what I start out. So what if I mod? It's my money, I'm gonna spend it how I like.

But you're right. It's all part of being young and having fun. I agree that if I could turn back time, I wouldn't have poured my college loans into big wheels, carbon fiber hoods, turbo kits and clutches. But it's what I did and sure, it cost me a lot of money.

But ultimately, they are your consumer dollars, so do what makes you happy.

We havn't had a club dyno day for a few years. Back in the day we would do like 2 a year with 15+ members. I remember the first one. It was when my clutch pedal bracket broke the first time.

I would hope we could get a couple 7s (well, FDs mostly ) to see what they are sitting at right now. It seems as though the FDs are like unicorns around here. Plenty gets said about them, and you see what are supposedly pictures of them, but it never really seems as though anyone ever sees them in person I think it could be fun.

Don't tell me that! I would probably cry if that happened. But I'm not taking it into the dealer because I don't want them to try and void me for something unrelated.

Actually, dealerships can only void warranties if they can prove the modification caused the damage. There's a thing over on 6crew about this I think. A stealership can't void your entire warranty because of an HID kit in your headlights. But try getting clutch work done with an aftermarket flywheel and you probably won't be so lucky. But I believe they can refuse to service your car (and that HID kit and flywheel thing is the example used on 6crew )

With nitrous, I don't think you'll get a whole lot of dealerships willing to work on your car.
