Lyssa, why would you have to change your MAF sensor?

I'm not sure that I'd own another vehicle that had to go to the dealership for work. If I can't do it myself then I won't own it. It seems that customers service and professionalism is going away for good. :(

You should remove the Groove logo from your forum signature. :} actually, I should shut up, I looked again and now it makes sense. duuur.

I've been getting MZ3 oil changes at Groove, can't speak to actual mechanical service, though they did help me out with a firewall cover holder that was missing from the factory, no questions asked.

re: OP, what is it with mechanics that absolutely have no interest in working with customers, to the point of actual dysfunction? I had one do this, even saying his time was worth money. I offered him his hourly rate to talk to me for the 5-10 minutes I wanted, and he seemed to get angrier. *shrug* Apparently, not uncommon...

That would be like buying your foes drinks at the bar. We call it burying the hatchet, but we all know the other table gets ticked off because you are flaunting your money.

Ha. I just realized you posted about me Eric in this thread.

Yeah. The Mazda here in C Springs stated a few different things on that write up that was wrong with the car. Hey, I can't say they weren't wrong about the OMP. Although, they've given me the go-around with my Mazda 3, and when I had the CEL on. I had to take it to Menekie (sp) in Pueblo while I was at work to tell me the code that was being read was the t-stat, however the CEL has long now disappeared since I posted about it.

I've come to realize though, dealerships here in Colorado seem to lie a bit just to screw their customers - what gives?

Supply and demand Christ. You supply the money and they demand more.

I'm pretty sick of dealers. I went to Groove today to find out how much it would be for a second key for my 6. $155 for the most basic key (no remote or anything, just a key to start the car) including the key, cutting it, and programming. They also wanted $100+ just to diagnose a CEL a couple months ago, and like $100 to just figure out if my dead headlight was a wiring issue or a dead bulb. Freaking rip offs. I hate dealerships.

If you want get a switchblade key off ebay and get it cut at a lock smith for under $10. Then program yourself. I can help if needed.

I don't know if I can program it myself as I only have 1 working key, and everything I've read has said you need two working keys to program another key. Unless you know something I don't? I really want a switchblade key though :p

Ummm. Yeah that poses a problem. How is it that people only have 1 key? I got 2 keys and a valet key with my 8. Did the previous owners lose the others?

I'm 99% sure we had a second key at some point, but we probably lost it. We might still have it, but nowhere that we know where it is.

Yeah I noticed that yesterday when I read through this thread again haha. I guess it's a good thing I didn't talk smack about you lol.

I like that, I'm gonna have to use that.

Can you not go to Autozone and have them check the CEL with their diagnostic testers? Actually I think just about any parts store can do this. Unless it's something with the 6 specifically.

Well I was going to bring it in to have them check it out because it has a lot of miles and I just wanted to make sure nothing was wrong. Didn't end up taking it in though. I ended up having the CEL taken care of when I slid on ice and messed up a wheel pretty badly. Was the thermostat.
