Well my main beams are OEM adaptive D1s (Bi-Xenon) HID's so I don't need it for my main beams, and I don't want to run 50w HID's in my fogs. In my old MZ3 after I did my retrofits, I was able to use them, once I traded it in, I had no real need for them: http://www.coloradomazdaclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6596&highlight=ballast But I'm now looking at possibly doing HID fogs, but don't want to run as much wattage down there.
