those are random pics... that car looks pretty no matter where it is. What wheels are those you have on it for the summer? I really like them.

The wheels are 17x7 Enkei RSV. By design, they look alot like these wheels:

But I didn't want to spend the money on the Racing Hearts like the Tri Point Mazdas, so I found these for about $130 each at Edgeracing.com and thought they were close enough.

My winter wheels are Konig Theory wheels that I bought off a fellow http://www.mazdas247.com member inexpensively. I'm in the process of repainting those wheels silver. I hate the bronze with the polished lip look. I still have the factory wheels. If I ever get into road course stuff, I'll mount some race rubber to those.

Covered in some Kansas "snow"- it's more like a little snow with freezing rain on top of it to seal it all together:

21 lbs?!?!?!? I can't find any info on Enkei's website, but Edgeracing lists the 17x7 RSV wheels as 17.5 lbs. A little over a pound per inch isn't too bad.

Yeah I was at Discount Tire yesterday, and asked them what the 17" RSV weighed....they could wrong I guess, but my car weighs more than yours
and I would think the wheel for my car would need to be a bit stronger?

edit: I am totally wrong that same wheel is 17.5 in my size too!!!

So MazdaTom, the disc brake pics, am I to assume you did a rear disc conversion on your ride?

Nope. The ES and the Mazdaspeeds came from the factory with rear discs- I think the Mazdaspeed's brakes are like .1" larger in diameter. What I'm showing in the picture is that the pad was worn down to the backing plate. I did that to the front pads as well. Not really bragging by any means, just showing the carnage.

that's nice, other brand cars in the same segment were NOT offering rear disc brakes at that time... the carnage
was from auto crossing I assume or do you have one heck of a lead foot.

Actually, the carnage was from normal driving, although the car was autocrossed at least twice. I bought the car with just shy of 30,000 miles. Someone either intentionally broke off the pad squeakers or they somehow broke while being used- prior to my ownership.
