I wouldn't go that far but I will say I was happy with the tune Nick made me on my MS3. $350 for an AP tune.

Alright well Mac Autosport seems like the way to go, everyone suggests them...turns out i wont have enough money for the tune....but i do have enough money to buy either the cobb ap or a cp-e downpipe and new turbosmart bpv. Any suggestions? would it be alright to slap tht dp on there without a tune and extra boost? or is it bad for the car? and does the ap come with basic maps tht i wont need a tuner for?(i suppose i can ask cobb tht)

If you put a downpipe on with your current mods you will likely hate it because you will be hitting cuts all day long. You won't be able to go WOT past 4k without getting your head thrown into your steering wheel. I would get the AP first. And yes, it does come with off the shelf maps that you can run until you get the downpipe and any other parts and then go get your custom tune.

The stage 1 map should work, I would just double-check what map people are using with the CP-E SRI, since the only two I have seen a Cobb map written for are the Mazdaspeed CAI and the Cobb SRI and the CP-E MAF housing might be a little different than either of those. You can also ask on MSF.org what map people run with the CP-E SRI and hopefully in between the "Get a Standback!" comments someone will actually give you some advice.

k so say i get my stage 1 map on there and my new bpv. Would hooking up an electronic boost controller be a bad idea without a professional tune? (not tht i know how to hook it up anyways) i just happen to have one since i jumped the gun for it instead of just buying a manual...which i shud have done in the first place

You don't need a boost controller at all with the stock turbo. The AP will control the boost through the ECU and the stock boost control system.
