Ron's Monster Miata Build
Is the hood modification so you can fit a supercharger on there?

The work continues and keeps moving forward. I finally got my roll bar and rims and tires in and had to burn the midnight oil to get it in. Of course as I got started I found more work to do, since I was in there and all.
I put down some a rubberized sound deadening coating on the floor and then insulated it with installation mate since the carpet was up. Looks good and makes a huge difference.
Installed the roll bar, a Boss Frog double hope setup. One of the only double hope rolls bars approved by the SCCA. Fit like a glove and looks sweet.
After much debate I finally ordered my rims and tires. I decided to got a 949 Racing 15X8 rim rapped in a 225/45/15 Toyo R1R tire. I really would have like to go with a 16" rim for the look and style of the car but the issue came down to, no one makes wide tires for a 16" rim and essentially the widest tire I could fit was a 215. Toyo did make a 245/35/16 but was going to be discontinuing that line. I had so many more tire options for a 15" rim and I do love these 949 Racing 6UL rims. They are a true racing rim, they only weigh 12 lbs, one piece cast construction and are a double valve design. I also went with a set of Blox Forged lugs to top it off. Each lug only weights 26 grams and feel like they are almost plastic. The stick out a little to far but we will see if I keep them.
I hope to start this thing this week end and if I do will defiantly post up the video.

Those rims are so badass. What still needs to be done for you to be able to start it? I don't know that I'd be able to resist starting it up before doing all of this other stuff, hehe. Just to hear the rumble. Are you planning on redoing the seats at all?

Really all that needs to be done is some final wiring of the Ford harness into the miata harness. Its kind of like hide and seek with some of the wires and takes some time. Eventually I will mess with the seat but mine are in good shape and will probably do a big break kit before messing with the interior. Glad to hear that your Miata is still kick'n.
Yep, almost 12k miles on it since the swap and it still runs great.

Well my car is at the shop to get some work done. The exahust is going to be installed (2-1/2" dual exhaust, Magnaflow High flow cats with some Flowmaster 40 series muflers), fenders rolled, hood modified, suspension setup/alignment, and basic engine tune up. It will probably be there for awhile but is well worth the wait. One step at a time.

Are you going to be there for first start-up before they do the tune-up? You have to be the one to fire that bad boy up for the first time.
Are they going to do the paint too or are you planning on doing that yourself?
