Dashawk alternative

Postby Justin » Mon Nov 22, 2010 9:14

Just got my Bluetooth OBDII reader in the mail. Very cool, am using an Android app called Torque to read it. Seems to work well and can read all of the OBD IDs as well as the extended IDs if you know the codes. Question is, does anyone know where I can find the code IDs for the Mazdaspeed3?

It can, you just need to be able to tell it what PID to read. Thats the part I'm trying to figure out. If I can make it work I'll basically have a Dashawk for a $5 app and a $30 OBDII dongle.

That post doesn't really give a list of the PIDs. I'd seen it before and it was good, but doesn't really match this application.

thing ive noticed(i have the same thing) the ebay chinabluetooth dongle, works for shit. some times it will receive extra things and sometimes it'll only receive half the things its supposed to plus because you cant enable faster communication you are always 3+ seconds behind while it recieves the info.

the only way to get this to work that i see is to get the 99 dollar one that torques website suggests, and then finding the pids. standard gm ones dont do anything so im thinking im going to try the ford pid's once i can find the list

Not worth all the hassle lol. Plus having to worry about looking at your phone while driving. I'll just take my perma-installed, always visible and current Dashhawk.

yeah but the dashhawk doesn't work on the genpu's, so they have to do something different.
