I'm not actually sure. VW offers so damned many engine options in the Passat, apparently, I didn't see anything identifying a model trim, I didn't really pay attention before, too busy during, and tailed further back, more like 4 seconds behind, after closing the gap to just a few car lengths.. I'm *pretty* sure it was a B6-series? A sedan Passat. I'm kinda trying to work this out backwards-like, reading about the options on wikipedia, I'm not sure I could say whether it was the 2.0 FSI, the 1.8 TSI, or something else, not based on what I observed when he first took off. Wide range of curb weights, up to 3500lbs in the 3.6L?

I read that the 3.6 FSI VR6 would maybe be expected to output 300hp, or maybe 225hp at 8400ft. I figure my L5-VE is good for no better than 125hp there, probably less. I was slingshotting through the same first curves that he clipped center lines on while pushing what could well have been full throttle, so the dynamics weren't quite the same. He was definitely driving as though he had less grip on the curves than the mazda3, though. :)

Some monkey in a 2010 Jetta 2.0T challenged me today. Came SCREAMING up behind me, then started playing games at a stoplight.

He's sad now.

Challenged by a silver NSX today. Now there's a very unhappy NSX owner in the Springs. I LOLed and gave him a thumbs-up.

NSX's aren't very quick in a straight line stock. Follow one around a corner, and you'll be impressed (or play with a twin turbo version haha)

Ahh the challenge thread, one I won't be posting in for a while unless we have a bright sunshining-dry-road day.

Some time last week I pissed off a BMW 330i owner. My lane was ending to a right turn only and we were at a light. I wanted to keep heading down speere so I floored it when the light turned green. Tires spinning in first and he was trying to go fast to not let me in. Shifted to second and got gripe and bye bye bimmer. He got all made and flew around traffic just to get back infront of me. Muhahaha

As for last tuesday night...... First was a silver RS4 and the second was a newer WRX. RS4 floored it when we entered onto 6th ave. I was in second and the tires broke loose. I was on his bumper. Nothing after that. about 5 min later on I was at a red light and a white WRX (newer body style 4-door) pulled up right when the light turned green. I didn't even notice them and accelerated rather quickly off the light.... they heard the BOV and floored it. Wish I coulda played but I had to turn into a shopping center. I'm sure I would have got the WRX big time cause they floored it and were barley moving while I was moving along at half throttle. If I had seen them sooner I would of kept going straight and not turned.

THere are several cars I'd LOVE to track because I think that while they're not hella fast stock, it'd still be hella fun.

1. NSX
2. Lotus Exige
3. Miata
4. RX-8

I can vouch that a miata is wicked fast on track. Leaves cars with 2, 3, and sometimes 4 times the hp behind when the turns come about. An instructor at HPR took me for a session in his spec miata and it was so much fun. The thing is so quick despite the lack of hp.

I had some jerkoff in a Hyundai Sonata get mad that I accelerated quickly from a light and got in front of him before we got onto I-25. I was quite a ways in front of him when I got over (like 10 cars) and he starts waving his hands around getting all pissed off. He tried to do the same thing - fly around me and get back in front, waiting until the last second to actually switch lanes and nearly clipping my rear bumper. That shit makes me mad so I sped up and made sure he couldn't pass. He pulled alongside in the right turn lane trying to get me to roll my window down yelling and flipping me off but I just looked over and gave him a big goofy wave and a smile, lol. Then I took off full speed from the light and left him way behind me as I merged onto the highway.

That shit happens to me all the time. Then again, I'm an Italian from New York, so my finger/temper tend to get the best of me at times. Ask Lyssa, she understands. :)
