Argh!!!!!

Postby bellalyssa » Fri Oct 22, 2010 9:14

As the title suggests... I'm irritated/frustrated/angry.

Car went in to Spradley today to get checked out. Turns out I need a new MAF sensor (cool beans) and my Purge valve needs to be replaced... again. That's all fine and dandy. I can use MAF sensor cleaner to fix the MAF issue and the purge valve is still under warranty because I replaced it in June. Max price: $5 for MAF cleaner.

Here's where I get irritated. My CP-e Rear Motor Mount has failed. The rubber is pulling away from the mount... falling away would probably be a better term for it. Next best part? The passenger side mount is broken... completely and has been for awhile apparently.

Total cost to fix this issue? $300+ dollars. Plus having to live with the fear that my engine only has 1.5 working mounts right now and could decide to peace out at anytime.

Angry? Slightly. There goes my intake...

I would imagine CP-E will replace their mount for free, if that helps at all. :(

They will, I called about it. But CP-e is releasing their side mounts in limited quanitites (30) beginning next week. Street Unit is backordered on their side mounts for another month... I don't want to throw money down for OEM when I would rather have something more durable and secure.

Just a lot of waiting. I'm hoping JP from Edge Autosport can hook me up when he gets his shipment of the CP-e mounts. He's calling them on Monday.

Damn sorry Lyssa...hopefully you get hooked up and taken care of. I think CP-e should make you one of the people to get a side mount since your rear mount failed...just saying.

CP-e says they've got 500 people waiting on these mounts. In the grand scheme of things, I'm not important. Plus they haven't even released pricing on them yet. What I may do is throw down the money for the SU rear motor mount and side mounts package and sell the rebuilt CP-e mount when I get it back. I haven't heard of anyone having an issue with the SU mounts.

What's his sn? I'll PM him and let him know about my situation. I don't think he can expedite the fabrication on the mounts though :(

Yea it's StreetUnitMark and he has always had awesome customer service for me. I have all 3 SU mounts and they hold everything in place very nicely. Be prepared for some hellacious vibes though when you put the side mounts on. I'm mostly used to it now, but at first I almost took them back off and said screw it lol.

MAF issue was fixed thanks to some MAF sensor cleaner I bought at Autozone. $7.47 repair sounds much better to me than the $212 Mazda wanted for the part.

Standby for results on the purge valve and mounts. I PM'ed Mark at Street Unit and let him know about what was going on.

Glad Mark was able to come through for you. Everybody loves him for a reason.

I'd hold off on putting on the passenger side mount until you get the tranny (driver's side) mount.
