Mazda Junk Yards in Denver/NoCo

Postby Elite130 » Tue Oct 05, 2010 9:14

Does anyone know of any junkyards that have late-model (more specifically Mazda6's) in stock? I really want to upgrade to HID's and would like to get stock headlight assemblies. Anyone have any leads or know of any junkyards in Denver or northern Colorado that would have Mazda6's?

Thanks!

You just have to hit up the junkyards and see what they have. Some have online inventories but they change weekly.

its really not hard to buy aftermarket hid's and retrofit the stock assembly's to make them work. If Im not mistaken, you cant just buy the OEM HID assembly's and plug them in anyways..

$25 at DDMtuning.com is the way to go. I recently did my Speed3's lights and am contemplating doing the fogs as well because I'm so happy with the results. The stock halogens projectors have a good cutoff and I've had no problems yet with people brighting me thinking I've got my high beams on.

Yeh, I'm not sure how the MZ6 works, but with my old MZ3 I was able to simply (well actually finding one wasn't easy...) get an OEM Mazda3 HID projector, and swap it in.

OP, I'd check out the classifieds on the various Mazda6 forums, and also see if they have a "wrecked" section.

I would imagine the projectors are different for the xenons than for the halogens.

I believe they are, but my halogen projectors seem to be working just fine with HIDs. The primary difference is that the xenon projectors don't have the govt mandated leveling system.

The projector lenses is the exact reason I wanted to get OEM headlight assemblies. I may just try the conversion kit and see how it works out.

the only difference between the halogen lenses and the hid lenses are the cutoffs inside. There is a mod to remove the brass reflector in the halogen lenses to make them reflect the same as the HID projectors.. I did it on my old 6, and they worked awesome

If you do that, I'd also swap in a clear lense.
