At this altitude, an E46 M3 and a 335i should be pretty close to even. Modded the 335i should gain a decent advantage over the N/A M3.

Yeah, we were just about even. He was coming up from behind and I managed to keep him from passing.

ANd today, back in the MS6, I was challenged by your prototypical North American Redneck in a 2000-ish Trans Am. This guy had a mullet, Big Unit moustache, and a NASCAR hat on, even.

He took exception to me catching up to him on the highway, then tried to prevent me from passing, which resulted in him nearly running up the back end of a motorcycle. Then, after getting ahead of me at an intersection (his lane was shorter by one car lol) he proceeded to TRY to keep a Dodge Ram from merging in front of him by refusing to open a space (I had opened a space right behind him for the truck, but the pickup driver was a douche too), so Mr. Ram Driver swerved into the TINY space in front of Senor Redneck, causing him to slam on his brakes. Glad I'd left a space.

From that point on, he kept trying to shake me by gunning it, then slowing back down, then gunning it, then slowing, etc.

By the time he turned off on the road to his trailer park (I shit you not), he was pretty frustrated. I smiled as I drove by him. :)

305 HP at 6600 feet equals about 240 HP. Nice try, Dale Jr.

I had a four-door red Cobalt mess with me on I-25 tonight in the FD. It wasn't even an SS, and it had some trash ebay exhaust which made it sound like sh!t.

Worst was it was in the 2-lane section of the highway and there was a good amount of traffic, so there was no where to go. He would just get next to me and go slow so I would pass him, he would wait for a gap in traffic and then accelerate past me, his ricer exhaust howling past me. It was rather funny.

Red Eclipse with the St Louis Arch style spoiler, FMIC, BOV, and I think BT messed with me today. I had my mom and teenage son in the car. The Eclipse chirped its tires every time he shifted, too, so he had some serious power, and was NOT the AWD version.

Hmmm. We probably passed eachother heading opposite directions.

Chirping tires is nothing. I can do that stock. When the transmission worked though.

That's this winters item to fix in the 8 while it hibernates. Hopefully these guys Im taking it to fix it for good.

I was up in Fort Collins on I-25, you were up here?

+1 on chirpring the tires, I did that all the time in my 8 when it was stock even, it means nothing. It actually means they have less power, because if they had good power they tires wouldn't "chirp", they would just spin LOL.

LOL, well I NEVER chirp my tires in the MS6! (LOL)

Seriously, he was losing traction when they chirped/squealed/whatever. That's why I was able to hold him off for awhile. He lost ground right after shifting, then caught up, then lost, then caught up.

Yeah I was up in Loveland actually between Exit 255 (HW?) and Eisenhower just off Lincoln and 5th. So since you were in FT. Co we didn't pass eachother. :(

And yes not having traction for more than a split second = power. Especially if you can do it when not hard shifting and popping the clutch. If you can burn rubber in mid gear than you have HUGE power.

It's because you have AWD. All-wheel drive means more drivetrain lose, so it's more difficult to break ALL the tires loose.

A FWD Eclipse (if it's a GS-T with the same 4G63 motor as in the AWD GSX) can actually be faster from a roll than the GSX, because the GSX ix heavier with it's AWD system.

Yep, I know. And the fact that AWD launches are pure sex and little (if any) slip. :)

First run was from a roll, and he did better. Second was from a dig, and I held him off much longer.

And I can make my back wheels spin, especially right now, since the tires are as bald as Kojak. Much fun ensues!
