Well, when you're up here helping me install some parts Eric, LOL, I can show you. It's not that difficult- but it does take time and practice to perfect. I am by no means a pro or anything, but I can still get the job done, haha!

Got my GReddy intakes today too! Finally...only about 2 weeks after I paid for them. I understand, I mean, the guy I bought them off of was a college kid, but everytime I emailed him about shipping them out, he would say he had class all day. I find it hard to believe it was in class ALL DAY for over a week. Then he would kind of make it sound like it was my fault that I wanted them..LOL.

Funny how when I said, "If it's too much of a hassle ship the intakes, just refund me the money", they were shipped out the next day.

Yeah that would be cool. So far Zico has done a lot of the welding I've needed, but I'd like to do it myself, or at least be able to. Maybe I could actually weld in my core support too hahaha.

Yeah I don't believe that either. NO college kid goes to class all day, most of them don't go at all these days. LOL

So apparently my car is something of a celebrity, LOL. I took the Fiance to her school to help her setup her classroom and I drove the FD. The FD was in the parking lot and I could easily see it from the classroom window.

I look out the window in time to see a modified red DSM Eclipse pull into the parking lot, circle my car, then park. I was getting nervous and about ready to go outside when I saw a guy get out of the Eclipse to eyeball my FD. Turns out it was an older guy, and I assume his son who was driving the DSM.

I watched from the window as they both circled around my car, the son quickly snapping pictures on his phone, and the older guy kept looking in the window. I thought it was pretty funny. They must have seen the car from the street and pulled in. Perhaps they thought it was for sale? Not sure, or they just wanted to look at it.

Anyways, they left, never touched the car, so I didn't go out or anything. But still pretty funny.

Yeah I've seen that stuff happen before, it never gets any less weird haha.

One time when I was at the drag track in NC, my buddy Inacio told me he saw two kids bowing down to my car, "we're not worthy" Wayne's World style LOL!!! The funniest part about it was that it was still bone stock, and in pretty bad shape overall. That still weirds me out when I think about it but it's also kinda cool HAHAHA.

LOL, yeah, sometimes it's like driving a Ferrari or something. I've gotten used to the stares and such while driving around town.

A couple of weeks ago while on the highway, there was a kid in the passenger seat of a Jeep taking either pictures of a video of my car as I passed him on the highway. Weird.

It reminded me of when I lived in Phoenix and went to a Cars & Coffee event. It's basically a weekly meeting every Sunday morning for rich guys to bring their Ferrari's, Lambo's, Aston's, etc to.

There was this nice guy with a yellow Lamborghini Diablo 6.0VT. Stunningly beautiful car. They guy was in his late 40's/early 50's and really nice. He was telling me how much he loved driving the car, but he couldn't drive it anymore because it was like being seen with Tom Hanks or some other ultra-famous celebrity in public- people just won't leave you alone.

He would be driving on the road and people will tailgate him, follow him around to snap pictures/take videos, cars would drive ultra-close to get better pics, and of course the idiots who would try and race him.

Even worse was when he would try and park the thing- before he could get the door open he would have a crowd of people around him.

Basically he said it was cool for the first 6 months he owned the car, but now, he couldn't stand it, and was thinking of selling it to get something more "low key". I just found it funny...how someone can complain about owning a Lamborghini LOL.

Side note (or back on topic, LOL), I can't WAIT to go non-sequential. I'm having boost issues even more now, so I'm hardly ever getting full boost now. I'm lucky to creep past 5psi. The car is feeling dreadfully slow. I went to pass a car on the road the other day and could barely do it! I need my boost back!!! LOL

I'm ordering the PFC in 2 weeks (pay day), but even then I won't have the time to go non-seq, since it requires removing/stripping down a lot of crap in the engine bay. It will have to wait until Winter, most likely.

Oh the kid taking pics of your car reminded me of another time in C Springs. Zico was riding with me on I-25 there in town, and he said someone was taking pics of my car, so I looked over and it was the DRIVER of a Camaro and he was taking pics as we were driving HAHA.

Sometimes I like driving the Civic, but sometimes it's time to drive the FD haha. But I can understand what the Lambo driver was talking about...I'm not NEAR to that point, but I've had a small taste and I can see how it would get old.

So your boost issues are getting even worse now? That sucks. Makes me wonder what that might be.

When I used to DD my Galaxie I would get more attention that I ever thought I would get in an old car. I used to have people take pictures every time I drove it. I would get someone walking up to me every time I stopped in a parking lot to talk about the car. 3 or 4 times I had someone asking me if I wanted to sell it. The Galaxie may not be worth as much as a new lambo but it is rarer.

So the sequential turbo system is operating even worse now...so bad I dread even driving the car. It just feels like a slug. No damage is being done, but it just isn't fun to drive.

I am getting ready to buy a PowerFC so I can go non-seq, but it's a lot of work, so I'm thinking I might just wait to do it until this winter when the engine bay will be torn down anyways. So I'm probably going to start tearing the engine bay apart early since I won't really be driving the car much anyways.

Also, thanks to Jimmy, I am now looking into the HKS EVC-S boost controller:

http://www.hksusa.com/products/more.asp?id=3723

Typical HKS quality, has an ultra slim/small display, easy to use, and works well. Price isn't bad either, you can get it for $320 shipped on EBay.

Also, I found a company selling brand new APEX'i PowerFC with the new OLED Commander. I wasn't concerned about the new Commander, but after I saw the video on it, I really think it's a good idea now.

The sequential turbo system on this car has to be one of the biggest mistakes Mazda every made, haha. If you need help with the non-sequential mod, I'll hook you up with the guy who did mine, he's got it on his car too...sooo much better than sequential, IMO.

Oh and that new commander looks awesome! I've had problems with mine changing contrast randomly, so annoying.

I can understand why Mazda made the car sequentially turbocharged....better throttle response/quicker spool, cool "tech" feature, and to keep up with the technology wars of the early '90s Japanese cars. A lot of cars then were sequentially turbocharged.

Problem was the quality of products/materials Mazda used. It's been proven they fail easily over time.

The new Commander is really cool, I can't wait to get it! Haha

Yeah, I meant that they were mistaken in using such cheap parts, I guess. But if they had used quality parts, it wouldn't have been affordable. And honestly the throttle response isn't that much better than single turbo FCs I've driven, IMO. But maybe my car never worked right

I thought about getting the new commander, but I'm just not sure about spending the money.

Oh, and Dave, it looks like it's definitely over between Kellen and I, so I should have quite a bit of time this winter to help you with your car. I'm gonna post a thread about the ordeal so you can just read it there.

Well I am happy you can help me this winter Erik, I am sad about you and Kellen. Shitty situation for sure. Like I said before to you tho, it's better you found out about her now and got out rather than 3 years into your marriage.

I found a vendor selling brand new PFCs with the new OLED Commander so I might go that route. Otherwise I will buy a used PFC with Commander and sell the Commander and buy the new one for $375.
