I just wanted to update my post since my car is going to look a bit different soon. I had a mazdaspeed spring/camber kit sitting in my living room for a long time and never installed it. I purchased it via a group buy a while ago but then realized it wasn't really what I wanted! So I think I've made up my mind and I now have a few goodies in the mail! Here's the list:

Wow those are some very cool mods! Whats the deal on the balance shaft delete? I know they sap some horsepower from the motor but im curious as to how you delete them, and the affect the deletion of them will have on the motor apart from a horsepower increase.

Its basically a metal rod that runs the length of the engine with some counter weights on it. The counter weights spin opposite of the piston to "ballance" out the vibration caused by the movement of the pistons. Our engine is so small/light however that they really don't do a whole hell of a lot. If you pull them out you will get a slight increase in vibration at idle but beyond that you really can't tell a difference as far as vibration goes. The up side is you remove a huge chunk of rotational weight from the engine so it revs much quicker, making rev matching easier, etc. I plan on doing a lighter flywheel down the road too. Combine the two and the motor rev's MUCH faster than stock.

As far as removing them you just remove the entire assembly and the "kit" is just a couple metal plates to cover the holes where the rod used to be. After the delete you engine will also hold an extra quart of oil so you gain a marginal amount of cooling capacity as well.
