Anything can break- apex seals, side seals, housings, piston rings, ring lands, complex valvetrains, etc
It's all in the matter of the tune. No matter what internal combustion engine we talk about- the more work you ask it to do (power), the more heat is produced, and the narrower the window becomes for error. This is why the Bugatti Veyron has 8 radiators, and your car has one.
20B engine failures are lower, partly due to the less of them in circulation, but also most people operate them at around 500-600rwhp, which isn't asking for that much.
Now, if you operate a 2-rotor at those power levels, it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of WHEN it's going to give up. I think you'd be happy to get 10,000 miles of abuse out of a 500rwhp 13B.
