Installed :)

FedEx was awesome as well as StreetUnit in getting it to me quick, and Josh (SpeedRacer) was also as always awesome and installed it for me a mere 30 minutes after it was left on my doorstep! So far so good, no smoke from the turbo and i am loving the new exhaust notes and little bit of power and torque here and there. Great mod for the money!

lol i started this thread almost a year ago and i just ordered one today (9.9.08)

Expecting an SU Test Pipe to arrive Saturday! I cant fing wait!

So if i just do the test pipe and im unlucky, i can smoke? Or in order to smoke you need the dp and test pipe (aka turbo back)? Thats where my confusion lies. I dont want to mod anything on the exhaust that would kill the turbo seals and blow smoke until a solution to the 50/50 problem surfaces. So let me know if this is right:
1. dp and test pipe = 50/50 chance of blowing seals and smoke.
2. stock dp and after market test pipe = ok? no blown seals no smoke.

yay? nay? eh? I hate being this indecisive.

GAY! Really? Why? It has nothing to do with the turbo itself.

Sounds like a hassle all together... You could always put that money towards a Boost Gauge, installed at Import Sports! Lol

I think brandon posted about this somewhere, and I agree with him. I think the seals are bad on these turbos for a lot of cars, but the cats filter out the smoke before it comes billowing out of your tailpipe. Hence, removing cats creates smoke. If you install only a test pipe, then the smoke will be very minimal if at all. Mine only smokes when I do a spirited WOT shift and even then it is momentarily. In fact I never notice it, it takes someone following me to notice.

Yeah it dose, its to bad its has to be such a hassle. I dont know of any other manufacture that when you mod the exhaust you reveal a hidden problem [img]http://coloradomazdaclub.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif[/img]

Yeah i chickened out and went for a Cobb SRI for the first mod. I think im just going to wait and blow all my money at once on an accessport and full downpipe at the same time.

In short... Simply amazing :) Check here: http://coloradomazdaclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=497
At the moment Cobb does not offer the SF intake for the ms6, BUT it is the exact same intake for the ms3 and ms6. Cobb is in the process of creating brackets to hold it in place for the ms6, so soon they will have it available specifically for the ms6. I read on the 3 forums that Cobb said if you make your own brackets it should all work out.
