I'm not having any problems with the car or anything and I do my own oil changes, but just in case something does happen and I need to take it in, I need to know how much stuff I have to take off before going.

Looking forward to pics of the MSM!

They are pretty damn good with mods, I had hydrolock about a year ago, they replaced my engine under warranty. I had alot of mods, turboback exhaust, tmic, intake, inlet, mounts, springs. So I'd say they're pretty mod friendly in my experience. Motor city.... Not so much.

Good to know about the differences with Bob P. I bought my car from motor city, but if I have any issues I'll definitely take it to the Woodman location.

To the OP, hope it all gets worked out really soon!

Thanx to all you guys for the advice....now I really want to kick myself because I made the original service appointment with the folks on Woodmen, but printed the directions to the morons in motor city. T-time, I lived in the East Millstone section of Somerset county for 15 years before I moved out here. If any of you guys see a Titanium MX-5 around with NJ Firefighter plates, that's me. I'll post up some pix of the car as soon as I can find them. Stay tuned for further adventures.....

Yeah they were great dealing with the replacement, what all did they tell you?just curious. I think it helped that the cai was on the car when I bought it, otherwise I would have been screwed.

I was asking about the MS CAI and hydrolocking, and they told me that the only instance of hydrolocking they'd seen was one with a non-mazdaspeed CAI and that they'd replaced the motor under warranty.

With a Mazdaspeed CAI they'd have to cover it anyway since it's technically like an OEM part and that's one of their biggest selling points is that it is warranty friendly. Dodge pushed the same thing with their Stage 1, 2, 3 kits for SRT4s.

Since it was hydrolock (I'm assuming caused by submersing the CAI), they couldn't have blamed it on any of the other mods. It was obviously a CAI issue and it was a Mazda part so they were on the hook.

Maybe they were talking about someone else, then.

Joey also told me, "Anythig K & N is ok" for warranty purposes, but I wonder if Mazda NA agrees with him lol.

The torture continues...the dealer says my car's fixed, but I couldn't escape work early enough to get over there to pick it up, so I'll be there bright & early tomorrow AM... wish me luck!
