Well, I finally nutted up and ordered new wheels and tires today. They should be here by the end of the week.

I ordered the Rota Torque wheels in 17x7.5 with a 45mm offset. I am slapping on some 225 General Exclaim UHP tires. The Color is Hyper Black. These wheels are 18 lbs each.

Nice. I have those tires on my Enkei wheels. For an "all-season" tire, I really like their level of grip. Haven't tried them on snow yet though- nor do I plan too. I have seen them on other cars in traffic when there is snow on the ground though.

Those wheels look awesome. I'm wondering though, why did you go 1" smaller than stock? Are you going up a few sizes in the tire sidewall?

If the MS6 stock tires are 215/45-18 and the new tires are 225/45-17 then the speedo error should be 2.5% too slow.

The advantages of a smaller wheel/tire combo: lower rotational interia, lower gearing and less unsprung weight.

The first 2 equal faster acceleration. The last one is good for handling.

Bigger isn't always better.

Oops. You caught me. You're right. When you're doing 60, the speedo will read 58.5 mph
