An Accessport should be able to clear that up for you... but if you get impatient, you can always buy one of these:

It got rid of my fuel cut on my Speed6.

BTW, how does the car feel with the DP on? I'm assuming it should pull a good bit harder?

I'm with Arctic...

Small puffs of grey/white smoke often come from the tailpipe when stopped. This usually means that the clearance between the impeller shaft and bearings has become excessive allowing oil to leak past the seals. Another indication... large amounts of oil show up in the intake manifold.

I seem to remember this being more common in the Saabs with Garretts, and less common with the Mitsu.

+1

It's just a pipe. One pipe will not make the turbo seals mysteriously better, there's no amount of engineering that will make a DP somehow bypass a problem like this

The only reason why a lot of the CP-E catted DP guys don't have the same problem, is because they still have a cat in their exhaust... which filters out the "smoke" before it can get back to the muffler tip. The "problem" likely exists on their cars as well, they just can't see it, due to the cat "absorbing" the smoke.

I saw the car yesterday and it is burning a good amount of oil. it is also spitting a little bit of carbon out the pipe when the car is cold. The carbon only comes out when the exhaust is spitting out the condesation in the exhaust system. The car is smoking more than my car and mine has oil injection.

Josh you taking it in today?

I agree with arctic, it is only a pipe..... i just made the junk comment because Josh seems to have problems with them, thats all...

and even though it is only a pipe, YES I am glad I got the catted CP-E... only becuase the smoke isnt visible...and no CEL... although the other day I threw a P0420, Jordan at CP-E says the cat may be failing, which would result in a HUGE headache, have to remove it, send it in to be rewelded, and then reinstalled.. blah..

Josh, I didn't read all the other posts cause it will take too long. Save yourslef the stress of diagnosing something over the internet and put it on a an exhaust analyzer. 4 or 5 gas won't really matter, just go find out what is coming out, that will tell you if there's a problem.

Josh, get a 200 cell cat in her. No loss of power, but the smoke should dissipate enough with a 200 cell catching the blow by still.

Careful on getting a hybrid snail. I've seen many go bad, quickly. There are very few places that I would purchase a hybrid from. Buehn Engineering is pretty much the only one to go with IMHO.
