Car is running!!!
I took my car to Thompson Automotive and let them handle the rest. The actual machine work was outsourced, and I don't remember where. They did an awesome job tho, with 20 over pistons and no balance shaft, the motor runs smoother now than it did before, and I have little to zero piston slap.
The only remaining issue I'm having now is a p0012 CEL, VVT not advancing like it should, which has been a royal pain in the ### since everything that is supposed to cause that code is working properly, i.e. VVT, OCV, oil pressure, timing, sensors on crank and cam...it's rather ####ing annoying.
On a side note, I did get this in the mail the other day
Next is a Precision 6031

Is that a top-mount mani? Will you have any hood clearance issues with a giant turbo sitting on top?

It wasn't cheap since I had to replace everything but the block and head. Labor wasn't bad tho, it ran I think $2500.
Car still isn't perfect tho. Having a low oil pressure issue which is causing other problems. I just don't have the money to tear the motor half apart to swap in a new oil pump and vvt. So for the mean time it will sit neglected in the corner.

$2500 is actually fairly cheap for the amount of work done.

Oh I know...but with all the parts that I've got into this damn thing, I'm at about $7k...and I have another ~$1500 since we're thinking the oil pump is bad and possibly the VVT, so $700 - $800 in parts and about the same in labor since you have to pull apart the entire front half of the motor.
So when I'm done 100% with everything I want to do, it'll be close to a $11,000 motor build hehe
