Cel

Postby MN Speedster » Sat Jun 19, 2010 9:14

Car threw a CEL last night, got it scanned at autozone and it was P0406 and P0407. Any ideas what could be causing it?

Did you fill up? Maybe the gas cap? Looks like an emissions code.

Yeah it's an exhaust code.

I've researched the codes and they relate to the EGR valve. Would it be best to take it to a dealer? Its still under warranty. Any mod friendly dealers in the area?

Dealerships won't care about just an SRI and mounts. Is the car running okay? If it were me I'd just disconnect the battery for a couple minutes, that will should clear the CEL. Then see if you get that code again, if so I'd go to the dealership if you're under warranty.

I have an OBD II scanner. If you want to come by, you're welcome to use it to get some more details about the codes, and of course reset them.

[EDIT:] From what I found on the net with a quick search, these two code have to do with "High Circuit" reading on both your sensor A and sensor B, on your EGR valve.
