Towing The MS6

Postby A&PwitMS6 » Mon Feb 18, 2013 9:14

I will be moving across the country here soon, and was just wondering if it is possible to safely tow the Speed 6 with a 2-Wheel Dolly, provided the driveshaft is removed to "un-lock" the rear wheels from the front? I have read the owners manual, and understand what it means, but that doesnt really take into account that someone might be willing to remove the driveshaft. Im not set on this method, it just seems to be the easiest and most cost effective, that is if it works... I know the alternative is a full flatbed, but that is a bit more money and if i can do it safely for cheaper, it would help alot. That being said, I would never jepordize the safety of my car to just save a few bucks. If anyone has any input, it would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
~~~Think I can make it?~~~:eek:
I've towed cross-country with full trailer (MR-2) and a tow dolly (84 Mazda 626). You'll save some bucks with the tow dolly, but the trailer will do a whole lot better job - protecting the car and maneuvering.
I'd use a trailer for sure. Backing up at all with a tow dolly means instant jack-knife. Crap on the road blasts the bottom of the car. Trailer gives more space, etc.
Hope this helps.
