Ok so I got my 626 intake manifold and cleaned it up so I wanted to post some pics
Here is how I got it. Not that bad really.




After I cleaned it up and got the caked on gaskets off (Was kind of a PIA) getting ready for paint.





And after paint.






I will post pics of the install as I am installing my SU full engine mount kiit at the same time. in this thread. Also I sent a PM to the mazda of lakewood guy to see if we get discounts on gaskets. Does anyone here know if we do and who do we have to talk to when we go down there? thanks for looking

No, I was going to but I think it will be just fine the way it is. Just swapping over from the dual to single will be a nice change. Not totally getting my hopes up, but based on what I have read seems to be a nice mod. Not to mention not having to worry about the butterfly bolts causing problems.

You're also going with the SU engine mount kit. Replacing all four??? Let us now if you get any engine vibration transfer to the cabin. If so how much.

Yeah I got the full mount kit before the IM. But after tom said it would be best to do the VICS/VTCS removal since I have to take off the manifold anyway I started looking into it and decided to just go with a 626IM. I will let you know for sure how much vibration I get. Hopefully its not that bad.

I think you need to call the dealership (Burt for sure, maybe Lakewood and Sil Ter Her) and say you are with CMZC and you'll get a ~10% discount or so.

I have the full set of 88 durometer AWR mounts. When it's cold outside, the vibes are very noticable. Once the engine warms up and/or the weather warms up, the vibes subside a little. I also think the polyurethane breaks in a little after awhile.

I'm still tempted to put the 626 manifold on my car without the turbo. I've got a spare head coming soon that is going to get worked and possibly paired with some nice cams so the 626 manifold might work well for me.

As for the 626 IM on NA I have heard that it still helps out better than the stock manifold. But???
