As most of you know, my CP-E downpipe needs to come off, and the stock pipe reinstalled. After countless times trying to get a hold of somebody to do the removal/install for me, I have been unsuccessful. So, that leaves myself..

I am going to tackle this removal/installation on Saturday Sept 13th (this Saturday) at my shop in Lafayette. If there is anybody who is willing to lend some knowledgeable hands, please feel free to chime in, and let me know.. Im hoping to get started early (around 8 or so), but am pretty flexible if others cant start as early as me. (Drinking beer at 8am can sometimes be difficult)

As always, refreshments and food will be provided for the grease monkeys that are willing.. thanks in advance..

Hey I'll help. I'm a former Alfa and Jaguar owner. I've worked on a couple of aircraft in my day. My Speed's only 2000 miles old but I'd like to see how it's all put together. I don't want to get into mine yet but I can help with yours. You run the show and I'll do what I can. Have a lot of snap-on stuff that's pretty handy and I'm up the road about 5min.

I have the CWP 3GT that you cleara-bra'd.

Let me know?

Eric, I really want to help with this. I'm free Monday and Tuesday of next week until 3pm. Also, I'd heavily suggest finding a place with a lift available. I've seen shops with lifts take 6 hours to do a dp swap, I'd hate to see how long it would take without a lift.

Thank you, I will definitely keep you all up to date on the for sure specifics..

I may need a few swivel ratchets and extensions if anybody has some they can bring. Maybe another set of jackstands also

I helped put in a dp on a speed3, and I would suggest a lift. You'll need to get some torque on some of those bolts under there that is damn hard to do lying on your back under a car. I don't know about up where you are, but there is a place at Broadway and C-470 that rents out lifts by the hour. It is called auto bayz.

Mods Needed - Catted Downpipe and finally a tune.

Well, the lake never happend this weekend, and Saturday I felt like giving this a try... I was going to try and round up help, but I figured I had all weekend, so if I HAD to have help I would ask for it Sunday..

First off, a lift is far from necessary to do this install... I had the FULL exhaust (not just the downpipe) swapped out in 5 hours, by myself, no lift. The only hard part was getting the CP-E downpipe out through the bottom of the car once it was unbolted (which a lift would have helped alot), but I just jacked the car up another 8 inches, and I had plenty of clearance.. All the "hard" bolts to get to were easy as pie, no special converters or swivels needed. PB Blaster went on about an hour before i started the bolts on the turbo, and they came off with ease. The lower O2 sensor was kinda hard, but it came without much force after using blaster on it. All in all, I would say the install was easy, but involved. Alot of things needed to be removed, but it wasnt hard at all..

Id be willing to bet I could put the downpipe back on it about 3 hours next time.. without a lift.

Im really not sure what all the whining and crying was about that Ive heard on 6club... lol
