Agreed. He got a reckless driving ticket, so he may not have much in a way of a license. A reckless driving ticket is a lot of points right?

Reckless Driving is a 6 point violation, I believe. Odds are it'll be reduced to careless driving, which is a substantial fine but not enough points to suspend or revoke his license, unless he has other serious moving violations.

Obstructed vision is a 0 point offense with a $120ish fine.

I hope it remains a reckless driving. What he did was careless, but it was far more reckless. He easily could have ran someone over walking to finals. Its Boulder for crying out loud, people cross the street all the time, and a topper is he had to have driven past a ped crossing from campus in order to just feet later ram me.

Anyway. Glad you're OK. Go by a '74 Jeep Wagoneer for Winter. LOL Or an old 4Runner with a trailer hitch.

Winters around here aren't really bad enough to justify a winter beater. And in the end, the MS3 is still just an economy car- although a sporty one. Economy cars are meant to be driven, not garaged. Now maybe if this was Minnesota or Ohio or some place where they salt the roads really heavily and 4 year old cars have significant amounts of rust, then maybe.

Glad you are OK and it doesn't sound like you'll have too much insurance headache. Defensive Driving just has to be the default position of anyone concerned about themselves and their stuff. People are often so frazzled and distracted, self-absorbed and small-minded that this kind of thing is all too common.

I'm amazed at how many people just scrape one side of the windshield or just scrape a little port hole to view through.

Enjoy your Break and Happy Holidays.
