RX-7 Chris wrote:great story. I seem to always get hondas, SRT4s and 4x4 trucks trying to race me. Does my car look like a honda, SRT4 or 4x4 magnet, WTF?

Thanks!

Honestly, every car I've ever owned has been challenged by Honda's & SRT-4's lol, I just think they try to race everyone haha. Although I've only been challenged by 1 4x4, and it was while I owned my Speed6, some beastly loud Dodge turbo cummings diesel on the freeway that was spewing black smoke. Kind of weird that they regularly challenge you?!? Other than that one time in my Speed6, trucks have never really challenged me over the last 9 years or so.

The Honda's always make me scratch my head... most of the time anymore, I just let them drive bye. At least SRT-4's are fairly quick to begin with, and can be made stupid fast with minimal cash... but the Honda guys, WTF?!? Most of them drive NA 1.6L SOHC shitboxes, making around 127bhp (if that) or so... and at 5000+ ft elevation no less... I guess I don't understand them. It would be like me revving my STI at a C6 Corvette ZR1 on the freeway, utterly pointless. I guess they've just watched TF&TF too many times?!? Oh well.

Nice story. Chris I get challeneged by 4x4 trucks all the time too. Mostly on 6th Ave.

I was recently challanged by a Nissan Altima on my way up to the hills on sunday. I was heading to Central City taking the back way to black hawk. Well I was going like 5 over the limit and passed the altima Next thing you know hes trying to catch up to me. Took him a while. If any of you know the big U turn on the way up to CC, well right before that he was next to me and guns it. I Down shifted to second. My delay cost me also but as I hit 3rd I flew passed him. It was pretty fun. We both had passangers in each car. Anyway he slamed on his breaks to take the U turn while I took it doing about 70 and still acclerating. That was fun.

Later on he comes flying past me again. I was goin speed limit at this time. He lucked out cause on the next turn HP had someone pulled over and to occupied to get him. it was fun. First challange in a while and of all cars a Altima. We were cracking up.

Funny how this isn't on AWDpirates lol? I am sure you know why....all of those people are angels who obey every law, and those who don't are crucified and sent to hell. Street racing is Taboo over there. I call B/S!
[font=Arial Black][size=100]Roadrnr06 was my leased 2006 Speed 6 which was purchased on 06-06-06. I have many fond memories of that car, and will be keeping my original profile as a memory of the great car that I once had.

My new user name is Roadrnr09 and showcases my new 09 Subaru WRX which I am very happy to have purchased as a replacement vehicle : )

Honestly, I hardly post on AWDPirates, for more than one reason lol.... I've been on that forum for around 4 years now, and don't even think I've broke 300 posts lol. It's not just AWDPirates though, try posting any sort of run-in over on Nasioc, and you'll find they treat you the same way ;)

Sadly enough, my average posts per day is higher on this forum (a Mazda club) than it is over there.... and I don't even own a Mazda anymore lol.

You're absolutely right though, you get flamed pretty hard on most Subaru sites for posting anything of this nature (except clubwrx for some reason)... but, go to one of the Red Rocks meets, better yet, take one of the massive convoys to that travels to one of the Red Rocks meets, and you'll find a TON of Subies/Pirates breaking the "sacred code" lol.

Don't get me wrong, like anyone else, I hate to hear about people getting hurt, losing their license, endangering other people ect, but honestly, if someone is on an open road, no traffic to speak of, and speeds are kept within reason, I don't really care about a quick 5-10 second pull. Now, to the morons that weave through traffic, speed through residential areas, and endanger the lives of others, I can't say I approve. I've been challenged by countless ricers in traffic, to which I simply shook my head and let them think they were "too fast/tough/whatever they think of themselves". Just my $.02 though.

I actually had fun with a Honda Prelude keeping a stupid persone from weaving in and out of trafic about 2 weeks back. I'm sure that person was pissed. I don't even remember what she was driving, haha. The Prelude was a late 90s black with dark tint and bronze wheels, looked nice nothing ricer about it.

It is nice having a 10 second mustang in the garage next to a Mazda. Especially since the Maz is all show and 0 go. Sometimes I'll take the mustang out and just roll around until I find an old ass man, in a new ass vette and then laugh as I make him my bitch.

LOL..... That's just great. Me and my brother would do the same thing with his GNX. We'd go STI hunting though. There was the occasional oldguyinvette. It always caught everyone off-guard.

Let's see how many of these I can remember. Since my departure from CMZC, I have been challenged by (in no particular order):

Lexus SC430
Ford F250 Super Duty
Infiniti G35X Second Gen
Suburban
MS3
G8 GT
GMC Sierra 1500
Audi S4 1.8T and 2.0T
Audi A6 Avant
Acura 3.2 CL Type S
Expedition
Numerous Ricers in Honduhs
Tibby X 2

There are more, but that's what I can remember. I just don't get all the 4 X 4s wanting to race. I know, we're out west and there are cowboys and rednecks and yokels who think their 4 X 4 is fast, but let's face it -- short of an SRT-10 Jeep or a TBSS, your 4 X 4 isn't made for racing....let it lie!

Got challenged by a guy in a Camaro SS on the way to work this morning. We were both first in line on a 2 lane left turn at the light. Made the turn and we both gunned it. I think he was surprised that I was side by side with him up to 60 and he let off... I was surprised too as I have my stock airbox and TIP and no Standback on the car right now.

Ugh. Last night, merging on to I-25 North from 136th, some idiot in a gaudy Cadillac XLR (cheap ass chrome lipped/black wheels, Maaco looking two tone grey/blue paint job, and an exhaust system that didn't give the car the nice V8 burble, it managed to make it sound raspy)...decides to try and goad me into racing on the on ramp. I hang back, and watch as he cuts 3 different cars off while passing them on the on ramp. Then he slowwws down so I can catch up, revs it, pulls away, etc, etc.

Not that I've ever been an XLR fan (I'd get a Vette...rather amazing that a ZR1 and one of these would have been roughly the same price), but wow, they managed to make a $100k car look like a high schooler's Civic.

A week before I went to Iraq I was on HWY 115 heading towards work. Just past gate one it goes from a two lane road to a one lane road. I was driving in the lane that needs to merge and a Silverado 2500 was about two cars behind me. I was in fifth and gave it a little gas to begin my merge in front of him. He honks at me so I stop merging and get back in my lane (still have about a 1/4 mile before the lane ends) and then he guns it. I dropped it into third and pulled a few more cars ahead of him and completed the merge. Guess he didn't want me to pass him? Oh well.... :)
