Alright so here are some pics finally. Here is the battery power wire hooked to the bulkhead connector I was talking about before. From under the car looking up...
Image
I put a vacuum cap on it to make sure it doesn't ground out on anything. Not likely, but I like to be safe.
Image
Hooked to the starter...
Image
I'm not pulling the carpet back just to show the connector haha, but it's right behind my finger...
Image

Made this little bracket tonight to hold the buttons for accessing the menu on the SPA gauges. It was hastily done, I like to make it look cleaner but I figure it can barely be seen anyway, if at all...
Image

And this is the Lisle funnel I was talking about. I burped the coolant some more tonight, let it run for a while. The gauge was acting funny again today, but I'm thinking there really is something wrong with the sensor or gauge, it read in the negative today LOL.

I also changed the temperature units from C to F. Dave was right LOL.

And here are a couple pics from Frank's house yesterday. Went to help him flare his fenders.

That cable routing looks clean with those bulkhead connectors. Did you fuse it?

I know the gauge is probably already installed nicely and all, but you can try boiling some water and putting the sensor probe in it so see if it reads right. I guess you can do it with the gauge still in the car and powered up and then just bring the pot out to the garage and dunk the probe in.

Great job with the car. Seeing it in person was great! Can't wait to see those dyno number after the break in.

No I didn't fuse the power wire but I'm going to. I keep forgetting about it haha.

I think the problem with the water temp sensor is that it isn't grounded, the manual says that sensors must be grounded. I need to check the fuel press sensor too because sometime it acts up. As far as the water temp though, I think I may move it to the block anyway and just disconnect the stock water temp sensor, or maybe I'll put the stock one where the aftermarket sensor is now, if it will work there. And I think the fuel press sensor is grounded through the fuel rail but I'll have to see. I'm mostly worried about the EGT sensors/gauge right now.

Yeah TC I'll let you know. And when I'm up there again I'll hit you up so I can give you a ride haha.

Did it run good with the new timing I put it in? I really only messed with PIM cells above 10000 so you're not even getting into them with the motor break-in.

I've had to ground sensors before, but before I grounded them never read as messed up as yours! I had ProSport gauges in the RX-8 and the water temp was always 20* or so cooler than it should be and the oil pressure was low as well. So I just spliced into the ground wire of the sensor and made a central ground wire to tie all the sensors into and grounded it under the hood and then the gauges were pretty accurate.

I didn't really notice to be honest haha. I broke into the last 1000 miles of the breakin during our spirited drive on Sunday. WIN. Not as much win as being done with the breakin, but whatever.

My water temp gauge reads kinda low, like around 163-165 while moving and about 170 sitting still, but it read that on my STRI gauge too, so I'm not sure if that's a problem. It says to ground the sensor into metal (I think they're saying mount it in the block) but unless I do that I'm not sure how to ground it since it goes into a brass t-fitting between two hoses. My fuel pressure gauge is acting a bit funny too...when I first start the car and first start moving, the gauge says my fuel pressure is below 25psi but the gauge on the FPR says it's 30-35 or so. And the fuel pressure gauge should be grounded through the fuel rail I would think.

My main concern now though is the EGT gauge. I might just swap in the sensors they sent with it, but I'd rather use the sensors I already have in there since they are fast responding. I'm not even sure the compression fittings on the new sensors will fit into the bungs I have on the manifold, I guess I'll see. And I'm also not sure I'll be able to use this gauge now that I think about it because right now it reads 4 digits but it's 3 digits, a decimal and then the last digit. I think I read in the manual that you can change the placement of the decimal though, I sure hope so. Otherwise I wasted a lot of time waiting for this thing.

I also discovered tonight that my power steering pump is still leaking, it needs a new rebuild kit, so I'll order that tomorrow.

I also talked to my friend Eric (yeah, another one) today about talking to his boss about working on my fenders, so hopefully that will be done soon too.

I'd really like to get a FEED front bumper too, but Simon will kill me HAHA.

Oh, and for the time being I need to figure out why my boost controller is not limiting my boost, but I was told tonight that's because my wastegate spring is for 24psi. Hmmm, that might be it hahaha.

Not sure if you guys know, but there is a rotary meet in Vegas next month, would anyone want to go? I might just post a separate thread about this.

New Mexico or Nevada? Could make a huge impact on numbers.

I could offer trailers for rent, but you Rotory people might think I was trying to offend you.

Man, Vegas is roughly 800 miles away (from Loveland), that's a pretty good haul, about 12 hours, and good chances of breaking down haha. I want to go, but I got to think about it.
