The impressions on the MS3 side have been mixed for the AP. Many say its a waist, and that Cobb really did not do anything but trick sensors, but i don't buy that. I just hope my expectations are not to large to be satisfied. I have read ever increasingly good reviews for the AP, the new maps are said to be real good.

Lets hope as I always strive to be a little different, not to many MS6er's who have it that I've seen(I will trust the opinion of a local member)....I too am seeing better reviews of the AP as I thumb through the hundreds of posts on multiple forums.....:398f098a:

I must say, The RPM Store has about the fastest turn around time as any vendor I have done business with. I ordered my springs sunday night, and they are to be delivered Wednesday........Shipped first thing Monday......It was the same with my Exhaust.......Good business ethic, highly recommend them to anyone.....

Scott (milehighspeed3) has had the AP since day one on his MS3 and he has never had a bad thing to say about it. He keeps up with the new maps and says they are getting better and has always liked all the maps.

The main reason i have yet to pick one up is because of how long its taking them to get the tuner software out. And the OTS maps imo are disappointing. I know you are not supposed to compare different cars (apples to oranges), but looking at the OTS map gains from say the Subies, or EVO's to the OTS map gains for the MS3, i can't seem to understand or come up with a satisfying reason why they make in comparison no additional power. For example: 2007 STi Stg 1 bone stock makes a claimed additional +12% hp and +16% lb-ft / while a 2008 MS3 makes... interesting. Cobb removed the numbers. I wonder why? Last time i checked a Stg 1 bone stock MS3 made no more than +2% hp and i think +3-4% lb-ft. And its the same thing when looking at the wrx, evo, ect.

Don't get me wrong, i am huge Cobb fan. I have their intake, sways, inlet, shifter, soon their dp and so forth, but i really don't want an AP until they release the tuner software.

/end rant(ish)

Well, I guess I'll post this here since you guys got on the topic of the AP.

The stock motor and ECU for both the MS6 and MS3 are both nearly at their limits with the equipment on the cars. Once you start moddin the car and removing restrictions, then you can begin to see some gains from tuning. Unfortunately we do not have a BMW or Audi that gets 90+ hp gains just from a flash, our factory systems are tuned pretty damn well from the factory given the equipment that is on the car.

Also remember that the OTS maps that are provided for these cars from Cobb are produced for the masses. These maps need to work on every car in the country at a safe level. Therefore they will never be able to provide the gains that a proper tune can provide. Cobb is now offereing E-Tunes for a fee, something like $175 for the tune. I think these are being offered because of the drastic differences seen between cars.

Last I heard the tuner software will be released by summer time, but I am very confident that Cobb will release the software soon. I think there are too many people using the AP now to not release it.

I am still supremely impressed with the gains that I have seen on my car. I have not encountered fuel cut, boost cut, studder or anything else detremental as of yet with the AP on. I will hopefully be getting back on the dyno soon, I just need to find the time to do it. I'll report back with my gains.
