That's about all it will do. Someone on RCC did the math and if it were enlarged to our size it would only make about 55hp lol.


I bought the diagnostics tester from Rotary Diagnostics a couple hours ago. I got the four rotor one because although it came with only one testing assembly, I bought another one so I can do a two rotor and it still came out to only $10 more than the two rotor tester, and I can always expand later and test a three or four rotor as well. Laying the groundwork for a rotary shop lol.

And Chris said he might be able to get me into a Syvecs S6, the model just down from an S8, and fully optioned it would still give me everything I want (aside from OMP control) but be much cheaper. I still won't give up on OMP control though, and he said the Haltech should check off all my boxes once it has rotary support, but who knows how long that will be and I'm wanting to do this no later than April.

So I was just told by Pete (Rice Racing in Australia) that Life Racing has been working on OMP control already and it will get filtered down to Syvecs when it's finished. Not sure how long that will be though. And I was just told by Brian (the guy with the silver FC that stayed at the house a few years ago on his way to Cali) that one of the guys on RCC is a Life Racing dealer in Cali and there is a US distributor for Syvecs and Life Racing. Or maybe it was just for LR, I don't remember already haha. Either way, now I'm just concerned with the timeline of when they'll be ready. I might just go with either the Adaptronic or PFC for now and break in the engine on that, then when the Syvecs is ready I'll get that and have the work done to make it a turnkey car.

Brian also told me to look at Motec's M-hundred series of ECUs, that they'll do everything I ask. I've heard bad things about those too though.

I talked to Chris about LR working on OMP control and he got with Syvecs and Syvecs said they're not working on OMP control specifically, but they are working on software that will allow it. I'm not sure what the timeframe is exactly, but it's already in works. Chris said we can go ahead and wire everything up but I'll probably at least break in the engine on the PFC or Adaptronic first. That's assuming it's running when I get back or I can get it running soon after haha.

Also, since he's doing the harness and I want to have everything done in one shot, I'm thinking about setting the car up for flex fuel ahead of schedule. I'll have to go through and replace some parts though to make sure the system can handle it. And some of those parts are ones that I JUST put in haha. Oh well.

Oh yeah, I don't remember if I mentioned this already, but I'm also planning on installing a tablet in the DIN slots to replace the stereo and be able to see all my gauges on there. So I'm skipping the PLX install.

It all depends how long it takes them to come out with it, and how long it takes me to get the car running and/or break in the new engine. There are a couple different ways I can go with this...

1. I can wait to buy the ECU until OMP is an option.
2. I can buy the ECU and wait to install it until OMP is an option.
3. I can buy the ECU and install it and have Chris wire everything up, but run premix until OMP is an option, and since it's all in the software I can just do an update later and I'll have it. But I'd prefer to break in the engine on one of the other ECUs.

What I plan to do is see how it all pans out and play it by ear.

can you use the older style mechanical OMP? Like what's on my car and the S4.

it uses a shaft that runs off the distributor/crank angle sensor.

The shows a 12A front cover but is gives you the idea:

Yeah I was gonna say I think it's driven the same way, but I wasn't sure how it was "switched on". Unfortunately I don't think the bolt holes would line up though. I'm thinking about the differences on the Richard Sohn OMP adapters.

Single Over Head Nitrates or something I think. lol
