It's been awhile since I didn't ignore someone trying to play, since I'm trying to baby my winter tires and my diff mounts (just in case). But last night, some douche-monkey pulled up beside me in his 330Xi. I know some cool bimmer drivers, but this phlegm-stain wasn't one of them. Typical Bimmer-douche. Cig between two fingers, hanging out the window. Fake hair. Gave me one of those "ewww, a Mazda" looks when I pulled up. He started edging up and tried to jump the light...but we were turning left and it didn't change for us. LOL. I moved up a little, just a skosh less forward than he was (since he was actually too far). Got another "don't get your ICK on my Bimmer" look from him.

Then the light changed and I LOLed.

Two lights later, he wasn't feeling quite so smug and made a quiet right turn away from me.

Tool.

Pulled up to a right turn stop sign behind some old guy and his wife in a C4 Vette. He wanted to turn left at the light close by so waited for ALL the traffic to clear, even a couple stragglers spaced way apart with plenty of room, so he could shoot across all 3 lanes. In doing this he made me miss the light at that intersection (I was planning on going straight). So instead I decide to turn left with this guy. I got ahead of him in the left turn lane and after the light turned I started off at a moderate pace passing a couple cars. Sure enough he decided to try me and came weaving around a couple cars to try to pass. I got on it and walked away from him putting a couple car lengths on him by mid 5th. Then I hung a thumbs up out the window and slowly turned it into a thumbs down, lol.

I know C4s aren't really fast but this guy had at least exhaust and was quicker than most C4s I've come across.

I got wooped by a GN (Buick Grand National) yesterday. But it's ok though it's my brothers and it runs low 12s. He quickly walked from me. Woulda been more like a sprint if it were tuned and running right.

I doubt it. Not when he gets his running right. The actuator is gonna be my B-day gift to myself. Which means I'll be ordering it this week!

LOL another 05-09 Mustang GT learned today that not all imports are slower than "American Muscle." I merged onto a highway. This guy was in the right lane behind a van, so I slid into the left lane and passed him. Dude like SWERVED behind me and got on my bumper.

I LOLed, dropped it down a gear, and walked away from him. He tried -- he really did. But he couldn't get back on my bumper and slowly-but-surely fell behind. A few miles down the road, he was turning left and I got treated to the attempted "muscle car fly-by."

That didn't work for him either. LOL. Dude was PISSED.

Are you sure it was a GT? An '05-'09 GT should be able to keep up or beat you with you just having an intake. Maybe you were LOL'ing about beating a V6 lol. '04 and earlier sure, but the '05+ are 300hp, not 260hp.

Nope, GT. Beaten them before. Remember, at this altitude, a N/A engine loses about 18-19% of its power, while a turbo engine only loses about 7-8%. My buddy bought an 07 GT and when he took it in for service at Phil Long, they told him, "You know that at this altitude, you have a 240HP car, right?"

Same reason I can walk away from a 350Z, Gen Coupe 3.8, etc.

However -- the difference between a DE 350Z and an HR makes it an even match with the HR. Walk the DE, can't walk the HR. Same with a first-gen G35 versus a second-gen. And I don't even try with G37s/370Zs.

G owners tell me the later generations have a twin intake system that at least partly compensates for the lack of breathing up here. Don't know how true that is, but without my CAI, I was dead even with a second-gen G35.

Oh hell no. There are three 05-09 Cobra Stangs in this neighborhood, and I tuck my tail and hide from them.

Two are in the same garage. A guy and his wife. He has a black one, she has grabber blue with red shelby stripes. Pretty cool that they share the interest, but I hate them for having TWO. :)

The new motors have a twin throttle body intake manifold design because the first generation VQ35DE motors had an air distribution issue to the front cylinders due to the intake manifold design that choked off air flow.

The new design does nothing to "compensate" for the lack of air pressure- the only thing that compensates is some form of forced induction (turbo/sc). The new design DOES, however, create more power, which of course helps.

Ah, OK. These were G35 guys...rich kids...probably didn't know what they were talking about. :D I'd like to face a gen 2 now, though, and see how I do.
