End of March. Hopefully earlier, near mid-March. My self imposed deadline when starting the project was March 31st (my birthday). I always like to take the car on a nice little cruise on my birthday (pending weather).

Right now I'm basically just waiting on all the fittings for the fuel system, the secondary injectors, fittings for the oil cooler and catch can, and that's about it. I might skip doing the CDI ignition system just to get the car going.

Haha, can't go ruining your image!

Last night I made some progress. Got the AEM fuel pressure regulator mounted in a spot I like. I then mounted the Russel -6AN billet fuel filter so mocked up the rails so I could finalize what fittings I needed. Luckily most of the way I had it pictured in my head will work.

I also figured out what to do with the oil thermostat, I just decided to mount it directly to the front cover oil feed with a female -10AN fitting. Then I could finalize what fittings I need for the oil system as well. So I was able to order all those from eBay, a whole crap ton of -6AN 90's and -10AN 90's haha.

I'm having a hard time finding a good spot for the catch tank. I think I might have to get a tab welded on the intake piping or the back of the intercooler in order to put it somewhere. Every time I find somewhere the catch tank works there ends up being something else that has to go there.

Just finished installing the Defined V-Mount kit. What a major PITA!

First, I had to extend the wiring for the radiator fans. No big deal, just 4 wires per fan (8 total wires) so I set the fans on my work bench and set to work.

After completing that, I bolted the fans to the radiator and dropped the radiator in. It was a real tight fit with the fans on and difficult to get it to sit in the lower mounts. then I bolted up the brackets, but wait, the passenger side rubber mount was wayyy far off. I had to move it one hole from what the instructions say to get it to line up with the radiator.

Then I thought the arms to hold the intercooler looked off...turns out I had one of the upper mounts in the wrong location so I moved it, but it didn't thread in well. Then came the REAL fun part, mounting the intercooler. I couldn't get it line up to save my life- fought with it for at least 20 minutes before getting 2 of the 4 studs in. Then I had to use a pry bar to align the intercooler to get the front two studs in. What a major bitch! The intercooler in contacting the front of the frame pretty good.

So I'm left wondering if either A ) My car is screwed up somehow or B ) I did something incorrectly. Most of the pieces only fit one way so I don't see how I would have messed something up. It's all in place now, but it's not coming out anytime soon haha.

Sounds like that IC fits pretty tight. Just think of it as it's adding to the structural integrity of the car LOL.

Eric- it practically does! It's in there real tight. Reduced chassis flex for sure!

Eduardo- I will try to get some up soon.

Pictures of the v-mount installation:

The rad has a few bent fins from handling putting the fans on...plus the intercooler fell when I was trying to line it up in the brackets but luckily the "damage" was minimal to the radiator. Could have been a lot worse. I plan on straightening most of the fins later.

And here is the "odd" installation issues I'm having. The upper radiator/intercooler mounting bracket is in the incorrect location, it's supposed to be in the hole to the left in this photo, but you can see that would put the bracket too far away from the radiator:

And here you can see the rubber top mount on the passenger side (same side with the incorrectly located radiator mount) being pulled backwards due to the stress on the bracket:

Yeah something isn't quite right there lol. I hate getting stuff like that that doesn't fit the way it's supposed to.

What is the core size on that IC? And ewww, is that a Godspeed IC? LOL!!!!!

hard to tell from the picture, but the front crossmember does look a little twisted to me on the passenger side.

Also, holy intake heat soak batman. And those zipties that hold the fusebox will not last. vibration will eventually allow the sheet metal to cut them and the fuse pane will fall and rattle along with the wiring to it..... i'm hinting at power wires meeting chassis groind here...

Yeah, hard to tell if my car is messed up or the parts aren't done right.

Yeah, it's a Godspeed IC haha. I'm going to fab a piece of sheet metal to cover the name and call it a duct haha. But really, it's a cheap v-mount kit so I don't expect a Garrett or HKS core or anything. I don't think it makes a huge difference, people make over 500rwhp on those knock-off GReddy FMIC's all the time.

What heat soak are you referring to? The intake to my turbo (not pictured) or the intercooler placement itself? V-mounts are some of the most efficient way of running a charge cooler setup so I don't see much heat soak here. I also might run a "splitter" made of aluminum in-between the radiator and intercooler to prevent heat from radiating up to the intercooler. I'll see how my IAT's are first.

The zip ties on the relay box are also temperoary, I plan on stealing Eric's idea and using riv-nuts in the frame to securely mount it. There is no sheet metal near the relay box so I'm not sure what you're referring to there either, the fuse box and engine wiring obviously isn't mounted in this picture, they were moved out of the way.

Also made some progress on the car today. Got some of the -10AN fittings for the oil cooler in so I went ahead and mocked it up. Made a few brackets, drilled some holes and about an hour later or so I had the oil cooler mounted up. I ordered 90* fittings for the cooler but I'm worried those won't allow for the best hose routing so I may need a 120* fitting to clear.
