Did you guys meet the asshole that works at that auto-hobby shop?

I was there helping Simon swap his tranny one time and there was a pretty hefty fella there giving us shit, and I wanted to throat-chop him, if I could get through all the rolls on his neck anyway.

I won't avoid that place just because of that guy, but if I need to do any work of my own I'll stick to the Peterson shop.

Maybe he lost a bet... I remember working on my car at the Luke AFB shop... took a 4 hour lunch, came back and had the car together in a flash. Went to pay at the counter, and the guy said he lost $5 on us. He had bet that we wouldn't get the car done before the shop closed... But, he didn't know we were mechanics.

Yeah he's the fatass that doesn't leave the stool unless it's to harass someone. Basically it went like this...

We got there before they opened and it was pouring down rain. I was driving Simon's truck and I backed it into a spot in front of the building and we waited in the truck for them to open (5 or 10 minutes). When they opened, Simon went in and paid for the bay and I pulled the truck around to the side to get in and drop the tranny off. Right as I was getting out of the truck, the guy came over and said "were you guys sitting in the handicapped parking spot out front a minute ago?" and I said "I guess so, I didn't know it was a handicapped spot". He said "yeah, and I almost called the cops on you", to which I replied "we were there for like 10 minutes, tops, and we were still in the vehicle, why didn't you just come out and ask us to move if it's such a big deal?" and he just stormed off mouthing something else.

Seriously?? How many handicapped people go to the hobby shop to work on their cars, and how many at one time that ALL their spots will be taken? And I wish he would have called the cops, they would have been more mad at him for wasting their time.

Anyway, not all civilians at the hobby shops are jerks. Not a single one at the Peterson shop is a jerk. And everyone else at Carson seems pretty cool. When I first started going to the one on Ft Bragg (one of them anyway), one guy gave me shit all the time and was a real ass to me because I'm in the AF, but he and I ended up becoming friends so it was cool. I started talking shit back to him and he respected me after that haha.

The first time I did my clutch at that shop on Bragg, it took me and a buddy about 8 hours because we had no idea what all we had to do. The very next time I had the tranny out, I took it out and put the new one in around 4.5 hours by myself, and my time has been getting shorter every time.

Recently at the Peterson shop, there were these two dipshits that were swapping out struts on a Civic for about 5 or 6 hours and Mike and I were waiting on that stall to swap out his tranny. We got the trannies swapped in the last 2 or 3 hours of that night, and we finished buttoning up the next morning. The guys at the shop couldn't believe how fast we were.
