turbo timer and tail lights

Ok so im wanting to buy a turbo timer and i have been lookin around and reading reviews. i want to know if i will be able to lock my doors with the car still running, my speed 3 is a 2007. I have read from people that i can lock my doors and other people have said that i will not be able to lock my doors. And i am also wanting to buy some smoked out tail lights and i was going to buy them from streetunit.com but they only have this paint or something that you put on your tail lights and i dont want to do that i just want to buy already smoked tail lights so any feed back will be awesome. Thank you

I havent seen aftermarket tails for the speed 3 anywhere..most people just go with the lamin-x, it looks pretty good if its installed properly.

I've got a Povit TT and Viper Alarm and I'm able to lock my doors and arm my alarm with the tt on. I had it professionally installed by Brain at Mile High Sound Design to get it to work properly.

Be ready for the continuous "Did you know your car is still running???" by cruious by standers. And also trying to explain to them the benefit/need of a turbo timer.

I've also been leary about the TT running with no one around just to tempt someone into trying to jack the car. Not that if they were able to get into the car, because the ignition would cut-off as soon as the hand brake was dis-engage and the alarm would go off and disable the vehicle. But just the damage to vehicle from someone trying to break-in thinking the car would be easy to jack with it left running. So far that fear has not been realized, knock on wood.

theres a taillight/headlight dye you can use also. I remember reading about it in Import Tuner magazine...ill try and find it for you. Its semi permanent unless you use their Dye remover, and you wont get uneven color, it also protects your lenses from yellowing and fading. Also, using this is LEGAL...all colors conform to US legal standards.

6 different colors to choose from. They did a test with their darkest color, and it shows the light emitted through the dye is almost unobstructed. and its relatively inexpensive.

Are you sure you need a TT? Speed 3 turbos are oil cooled and have a built in cool down cycle. As long as you idle the car for a seconds before shutting it off a TT isn't neceessary.

I also agree about not needing a TT on a speed 3.

+1...just let the car cool down for a few seconds or so after hard driving.

The Mazdaspeed setup is both water cooled and oil cooled.. the WATER continues to pump through the turbo after the car is shut down to help cool things down. Because of this, no cool-off period is necessary, although I still feel more comfortable leaving it idle for a few seconds after a hard drive before turning it off..

It's also a water cooled CHRA

A turbo timer is a waste of money, IMO. Just let the car idle for a song length of something, or when you know you're going to park soon, just don't go into boost.
