Trunk mounted bike carrier

I have a Speed3 and I need to put a bike rack on it. The roof rack is not an option for me (i am short and could never get my full suspension bike up there). From what I read I am going to run in to problems with the spoiler.

Any model recommendations for racks?

I'd put on a hitch and use that for a rack

I agree with Johnny (AIM WO4) The only way I can see it would be easiest for you is to get a rack that hooks into your hitch. Also, if you have a good bike store that you like just take your car there and have one of the employees come out and make suggestions as to what to get... they know best

Just be careful with the racks that put pressure on the back of the car. I see cars running around with little dents from where the rack makes contact with the back of the trunk/hatch. That, and they're sure to leave scratches too. I guess if you can find the cheapest hitch and hitch carrier, that would be best.

Or just pull the wheels and put it inside.

Agreed. You can also get straps to link your handle bars of the bike to the seat of the bike so essentially the front wheel wont move while driving. I hope that makes sense. But really, just take it to a bike shop and tell them your concerns about what you do and don't want and they should accurately match the correct set up for you and your car

I've had the other type on a Saab with spoiler... I switched to hitch and rack.

Just make sure that the hitch mounted rack will fold down or swing out of the way so you can still open the tailgate.

I have a Softride hitch mounted rack (for my VUE). It's nice. But it's pretty heavy.
