Just wanted to update everyone on the Ingalls ETD for the MS3. We are scheduled to do a final fitup on mOOse's car tomorrow with our prototype brackets. Prior to production, we would also like to check the fit of these prototypes on a non-speed3. I have loosely mocked them up at a dealership and really need to install one to confirm the fitment.
Once again we are looking for a Mazda 3 that you could drop off at our location in Louisville for 1/2 to full day. We will do a test install of the ETD kit, confirm the fitment and that everything is in order for our production run. For helping us out, you will keep the ETD that was installed.

Ingalls Mazda 3 Test Vehicle & ETD Update

Update:
The test fit on mOOse's MS3 went well. One slight adjustment for the production version and we are good to go. The kit should be available in less than 6 weeks.
Also, today I ran into a guy in the office next to ours that was renting a 3 sedan. So we used that as our test base for the 3 and all looks good. The kit will fit both the 3 and the MS3.
As far as why our is better than WeaponR's or NRG.
1. For this application, our brackets are fabricated from one piece, not welded like theirs. Welding the brackets leaves a larger chance for fabrication flaws, and I think they don't look as good as the bent ones.
2. Our engine side bracket is taller which allows for the ETD to have more leverage and be more effective. This also gives you more clearance to the oil fill on the MS3.
3. We replace the studs on the engine mount with longer metric class 10.9 studs instead of the bolts that NRG uses. This keeps the engine mount joint design the same as from the factory. The bolts that NRG uses will make the engine bracket install much more difficult. Tried it to install ours with bolts and hated it. WeaponR uses the original stud and when the bracket is placed on top of them there is not enough threads left on the stud to come through the nut. Makes me nervous.
4. Our kit is has more clearance to the A/C lines on the MS3 and where it does touch the metal is shaped to be completely smooth and not abrade the hose.
Those are the reasons I feel our product is better than those. My opinion of the competitor's is based on photo's and install write ups on the 'net. I have not personally seen or installed one of theirs on a MS3 or 3.
I'll post some teaser pic's later of the install on mOOse's car.

Another question that I thought might be helpful is the length of install time if someone were to purchase one?

You should be able to find them for ~$150-$160, about the same as any of our other basic kits. I would guess it would take average mechanically inclined person 1-1.5 hours to install in the MS3. The 3 will be easier since you will not have to fight the A/C hoses. It took me about 1.75 hours, but I was taking pictures, writing notes and measuring things. The 3 on the other hand took me 0.5 to install without the notes and such.

Just got the car back but will post a more in-depth review/impressions after a few days of driving and observing. The hardware looks very top-notch though, and vibrations are non-existent. Coming from a car that has had motor mount inserts before, I can definitely appreciate not having any vibration. For an initial impression though, I would rate NVH as follows
Noise - Maybe a 2
Additional engine noise is common with engine dampers. If your AC is running or the radio is on, you likely won't hear a thing...but if it's dead quiet, you will notice some additional noise.
Vibration - 0-1
You will produce more vibration from passing gas...more noise too.
Harshness -

Harshness is subjective and I didn't notice any negative effects. The stock motor mounts cause a jerking/flopping sensation with the movement of the engine, so one could say that harshness has now achieved a negative rating...or gotten better.
More to come, will start a new thread in a day or two after I have had some time to drive.
