Calling MS3 owners, whats your PSI?

Postby mOOsE » Mon Apr 20, 2009 9:14

Did a couple searches but it seems that most people who log their results are usually modded....so I was just curious if anyone had any stock-boost readings at our elevation? Especially readings for both 2nd and 3rd since the limited 1st and 2nd gear stuff. I recently purchased the Rev app for my iPhone along with their Wifi adapter and have been logging some runs so the curiosity has definitely set in.

just the MS CAI. Took a look at my logs from a few runs.... 2nd gear is hitting max of 10-11psi. 3rd and up is showing a max of 11-12psi. I am def leaking somewhere if you are hitting 15.... sh1t

Check the hot side boost tube to the stock TMIC (specifically where it connects to the turbo) When I had an upgraded TMIC and did the tube upgrade at the same time, the damn stocker practically fell right off the turbo! Worm clamps FTL:3039183a: I've heard of many speed 3 owners discovering the same issue...

I just noticed the same thing when I got the Aeroforce gauge........I was only hitting 12-13psi in 3-4th at WOT......(MS6).......found a leak in the point where the TMIC connects to the cold pipe.......made a rubber gasket, used the metal stock one as a template......bingo 14-16psi now.........only found it by using soapy water.......I am running a ETS 3.5 though....good luck......I am going to be replacing all the clamps with T-bolts as soon as I can get an inventory

Well, checked the hoses...none were loose but I gave them all a few extra turns just to be safe...my guess is the plastic bpv still... Wasn't planning on replacing it so soon. Do dealers even warranty this kind of thing (noobish question)? Otherwise I might rock a black forge BPV since it looks just like stock.

When i did some logs back in the day with a dashhawk, i would hit the 15.6 in 3rd-6th, but it would bleed off fast and stay at 10psi to redline. Still running the stock bpv and haven't done another log since. Some say an aftermarket bpv will take care of the bleeding problem, but iv seen evidence showing its the same, and boost still bleeds off.

Its probably not a bad idea to replace the plastic pos that mazda thought was adaqute, but i would not get the forge. It sounds like crap. Yes, it looks identical to stock only metal, but man does it sound bad. It litteraly sounds exactly like its name. Every shift, every change in throttle sounds like an iron worker guy hitting the two metal things together. Many here have gotten the HKS SSQV and love it. Its what i will get when i eventualy get off my bum and pick one up.

I second what Columbia said about Forge. When researching them, people said it sounded like a sword fight- ching-ching!!
