Yeah, if the Dealer looks at your 8 and determines that the issue will be fixed under the warranty, then the diagnostic fee should be waived.

Turns out the 'diagnostic fee' is just a basic charge for 1 hr labor. At first I was a bit riled that I was payin $100 for a damned fuse, but considering they do the whole "full circle checkup", tires depth, coolant, fluids, etc., it seemed alright.

I'm also out of warranty since June, apparently, so that's no go.

Guy I dealt with was Joey, and he was pretty good about it, even as I was a bit of an asshole about the price. Gave me a good deal and after all of it I walked away with my 8 driving again. :) :) :) :D

Glad you've got your car back, and up and running.

The Full Circle thing is a joke, I've gone in to dealers with no washer fluid, bald tires, etc, and receive "green" checkmarks for everything, everytime.

yeah, same here. I have a thread out there inregards to a new battery. They checked my battery a couple of weeks before it started acting up and said it was fine, even though it was covered with corosion (spelling?).

Call the dealer, show them the 2 pictures. The one loaded onto the truck, and this one. Someone is obviously very responsible for this, and you have photographic evidence. Good luck!

Good luck with your claim. They should throw in a free MS exhaust!

I am meticulous about every aspect of my car. I've been to the dealership once and only once so far for an oil change. They pull the car out front and I suddenly have a small scratch in the clear coat (right by the door handle), several little scratches on the metal of the shift knob (like a ring rubbed across it a few times), and as mentioned previously, the hood support wasn't put back securely. Things like this are out of your control, but is a pain in the ass to get resolved...good luck and sorry to hear about that.

Wow, after reading this (late as usual, Damn work) I went out to my car and it wont start either! I think the starter is out on mine though. The battery is fine, and the engine will try to start but it wont turn over. Guess i'll be taking it to the same place. I think they want like $500 though. Tried roll starting it today and that didn't work.

Sounds like yours is flooded, actually. Have you tried the de-flooding procedure in the Owners Manual?

No, I haven't done that but I will try that today! :) It's funny cause i left my 8 in my garage before i went on a business trip (due to a bunch of break in's in my area) and when i came back it wouldn't start at all. From what i'm now reading, that is what did it! thanks for the help!

Ok, got it working. It was flooded man. Thanks so much for the help. It took a long time to get it running again but it's working fine now. Hopefully i'll never have to go through that again.
