so Ive been thinking long and hard about this..

Postby memphis » Wed Sep 17, 2008 9:14

So,, recently in the past few days, Ive been doing alot of thinking.. And Ive pretty much made up my mind that its time to part ways with my car. Now trust me, I really dont wanna do this, but right now in my life and the situation I have at hand, it makes more sense to do this.

As some of you may know, I have a second kid on the way any day now and it would just be better if I had more of a family car. And one that is AWD to, seeing that my wife uses the car more then me and she works in Denver and we live down close to the Springs..and it would be safer for her driving during the winter months. So after long thoughts and long talks with the wife, we decided its best to trade in the 6..

So since this is happening, I will be soon here parting out my car.. For all you mazda6 owners here, heres your chance to maybe pick up a few items.. Heres just an example of the things Im planning on selling:

Metra Turbo II dash kit
S tech Springs
Clear corners
CAI
Halos ( already installed and would need to swap out headlights )

These are just a few of the things Im planning on selling, I will get a list up in the sale section with prices when I decide to finally part out my car and return it back to stock..

I will first offer these parts to all you here locally, and if no takers then I will post them on mazda6club.com and then to ebay as my last resort.

Im not sure what the future for me will bring and my future here at CMZC will be.. I will say, it has been a fun ride and Ive made a few good friends from here.. You all have been great!! I couldnt have asked for a more better club to be apart of then this one..

All I do know is this.. The car Im getting to replace the 6 is gonna be my wifes car for the most part but also be the main family car.. So that will leave me pretty much carless for now. And once spring time rolls around and taxes come in.. well then,, thats when I get to get my car :edf034b:..... And if i do happen to get what Im wanting to get,, well then.. I'll be back hehe..

So once again, thanks for a great time guys!! Ive enjoyed every moment of it!!!

Sad to hear you're making this decision, but it's very understandable! I hope you'll still be coming around though! And good luck with the baby...do keep us posted on the arrival...

So, I guess that means you are not looking at another Mazda for the family car? No Mazda 5 or CX for the wife?

And since when do former or non-Mazda owners have to go into exile (especially someone with over 800 posts)?

Sorry to see you bail.

I am sad to hear this, but I understand how you feel about wanting a more family friendly car. How much are you asking for your Springs.

Congrats on the family addition. I thought for a long time about what to do with my 6 when I finally got the 8. What it came down to for me was: I wanted a project car, but didn't have a garage. So that ruled out restoring or fixing anything older. I couldn't see myself modding the 6 long term. So I traded the 6 for the 8 and have my project car that doesn't need a garage...although I'll be thrilled when I finally have one.

So what are you going to get? Subaru WRX? Subaru Legacy? Some sort of SUV? The WRX is basically the size of my Protege. If that was the main car to haul 2 little kids around in...... you better be short. With the infant carrier in, the passenger seat has to go forward a bunch. I did it on a couple occassions with my kids, but our VUE is the main kid hauler. That thing has nice wide door openings and a big backseat.

And just because you don't own a Mazda, doesn't mean you can't hang out. The second kid will surely take up a bunch of time, but still......

Oh im not saying im totally leaving the club... I'll still chime in and all.. But I probably wont be going to any meets.. not that I go to many anyways, but ya. I will still be around...

As far as what Im looking at,, well, theres a BUNCH of things Im looking at... Subies, audi, G35's etc.. just as long as its AWD and in my price range. And yes.. I to am looking into maybe a CX-7 aswell ;) so ya. I wont be leaving from the club totally.. Thats not what I meant if that sounded like it.. which now that I look back at what I wrote, it kinda does sound like i meant that hehe, but no.. Im not leaving :D

As far as what I might get in the springs time.. well, that shall be a surprise for you all... Lets just say its something that not to many people have on here and if I do get it.. its something that I could have alot of fun with modding it up and making it into a true daily driver show car.. So you all will just have to wait and see ;)
