OMFG..... AYFS? That is freaking sweet! Guess I'ma be headed over to McDonald for Tranny issues for now. That is if Burt never gets a tech. That's awesome news. What I would do if I were you.....When the car is done Drive on over to Lakewood...... Get out....tell Rich you need him to see something....... Show him the Innvoice from Mcdonalds......tell him you won't be seeing me or many other Mazda's back here cause you try all to hard to screw us over. Then snatch the innvoice back and drive off. Do the same thing at Gateway. (Well mebe not but do something to rub it in their face.) I know which 3 dealers to stay away from know. I won't mention them in this post incase they get butt hurt but people can read through this thread and others.

That's why I got mad at Lakewood and switched to Burt. Their Service sucked, lied and all of the above. I bet that Lakewood didn't even switch out my coils bak in NOV.

That's great. Glad there is finally a happy resolution (hopefully they fixed it correctly)!

I just got back...I can shift again! It's funny how I'm trained already though, I still kinda cringe when I go to put the car in 2nd (from any direction) and when I try to downshift into 1st. I'm able to do all with no issues. Replaced 2nd gear, syncro ring, 1st/2nd sycnro hub, and the shift fork.

Overall...the feel going into 2nd is now just like any other gear, which hasn't been the case since I purchased the car. I can't wait until a nice dry day when I can actually get out and DRIVE now. Yeah! Yeah! Three cheers for Jimmy at Burt (it helped a lot that he spoke with MNAO) and to McDonald for being able to confirm Jimmy's diagnosis and repair the problem.

NICE!!! Congrats- It's always a good feeling when a customer is treated properly....however, it still sucks that you had to jump through so many hoops on a problem that should've been rectified at the very beginning. (Sorry, I can be bitter) :776d4545:

Any plans to throw this in the face of the morons who diagnosed it as the clutch??

Nah, at this point, I'm just freakin' relieved that it's fixed. All the clutch folks will do is tell me that the other dealers caved in and gave me what I wanted. They just lose out on losing future service, not that I would've gone to either Gateway or Lakewood for service to begin with.

Now I'll just take my little warranty receipt and tuck it away with the rest of the records I have for the car. And hopefully, that's the end of this little story. Wee!

Tim it's good to see a resolution on this issue. I've worked with Rob at McDonald and he seemed like a pretty straight forward guy....even helped me get my clutch disk replaced out of warranty for free. Good to know you'll be staying in the Mazda community :)

Me too! And my clutch pedal bracket support finally shipped yesterday, arriving next week. I'll be a little busy getting married next weekend to install it though! Haha.
