Damn battery terminal...

Postby Learjet45 » Sun Apr 10, 2011 9:14

I might just have to kill a baby...
I'm trying to get the negative battery terminal off so I can safely take out the MAF sensor to clean it...
I can't get the damn nut on the damn negative battery terminal loose to remove the freaking terminal to save my life. I swear to god I'm about to murder a newly born child... Already went out and bought two cans of Seafoam, TB cleaner, and MAF cleaner from Pepboys. Couldn't get the terminal off... Went out and bought battery cleaner to try to clean some of the crud off the terminals. Still can't get it loose... WTF!
Any ideas?

My shop teacher always said "don't let the metal outsmart you!"

Sometimes that is haunting (when I lose).

next time put a flat head screwdriver between the connection, and hit it with a hammer lightly and it will pop right off

Also works to help stickiness on non-chrome rims using rim brakes (old school "freestyle BMX" method)
and as a light rust remover.

I think I used a dilution of vinegar at one point to clean oxidation off of terminals too.
