Whats up guys and girls I recently picked up this 88 mazda 626 turbo Im sure you guys have seen on here before. But new to the mazda seen I have been having some troubles getting the car running the car has no spark so I begun replacing everything from the igniter, coil, wires, cap, rotor, and plugs still nothing Im not getting any spark out of the coil and now im completely stumped Im currently building my 93 mr2 turbo so I really dont have much time for this bad boy so im thinking about just handing it to a trustworthy knowledgeable mazda shop. I know the mazda tech day is the 19th but I will be out of town that day unfortunately im in the springs so any ideas would be awsome or reputable shops thanks guys and im glad I get to see a diff world other than the toyota:D

wow I haven't seen that car in a while. You are the third member to own the car. The guy that owned it first I think bought it from an old woman. I think if I remember right he replaced the motor. The car ran great. He started to have electrical problems and just gave up on the car. It sat in his front yard for almost a year. He sold it to the next guy who was still in high school. He tried and tried to get the thing to run and I don't think he had any luck either.

I asked both of them if they wanted help to get it running, lol. I will ask again. Do you need any help getting it going?

The MR2 has always been one of my favorite cars.

I have a couple friends who are big MR2 enthusiasts. Yours looks very nice.

I had one of those 626 turbos, though a 1990 five-door. Awesome, terrific car. I've got a great, skilled, fair mechanic here in Boulder - let me know if you want some help. He knows Mazdas inside out, all the way back to 1970.

Hey thanks guys I appreciate all the support the second owners name was devin ya they kept trying to replace like relays little stuff like that here and there so I figured I may be able to give it a shot but dang now im thinking either ecu or split wires somewhere. I will say help would be lovely but I really dont wanna be a burden or nothin lol was that mr2 you lost to red by anychance paul?

since everything is replaced its probably the ecu... yes it is a cap and rotor setup but you never know. or it can be the grounds.

that car has been around here alot lol

ya im gonna go over the grounds tomorrow next I guess I will start looking for an ecu does anybody know if when you turn the key on these cars the fuel pump primes itself like the little wine you here when you turn on the eccessories because mine doesnt lol might all point to ecu or a horrible wiring headache

Every car I've ever known primes the pump for a few seconds. I would almost bet it was the ECU or some wire to it. I have no problem helping you get the car going.

the mr2 doesnt prime but idk im gonna check the grounds now if that doesnt work maybe we could meet up sometime Chris lunch and drinks if you drink will be on me:D

god parts for this car are hard to find just for a simple tune up I cant find half the parts im now thinking its the pick up coil inside the distributer of coarse no one has one so I have to buy a whole dist. when I call for pricing its bad when the guy at advance says holy S**t. lol but im lookin at 150 for a remanu and 350 for new

sweet my new distributer comes in wednesday so hopefully with the new pic up coil in she will start and I can attend some of these mountain cruises!lol
