I had a lot of fun today, was good to be able to put a few screen names with faces. I'm thinking maybe I need to get a 2nd car, maybe an old Miata or something, I love my STI, but I used about a 1/3rd of a tank of gas today lol, the STI guzzles down gas like no other 4 cylinder I've ever seen lol.

Surprising to see such a good RX-8 turnout, but was good to meet you guys! Those are such good looking cars! Hope to see you guys at the next meet [img]http://coloradomazdaclub.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif[/img]

Next time, I'll go up in the front with you for some corner carving. I kept having to hit my brakes so I didn't hit Andrew's bumper right in front of me coming out of the corners lol.

LOL, I know, not your fault, you were stuck behind someone too, but then again, I'm bad with names, but the guy in the gray RX-8 in front of you, after his car got sideways, if I were him, I probably would have slowed down a little too lol.

Definitely a cool road to Evergreen though.

I don't blame you there, but if it's any consolation, it looked pretty cool when you got sideways [img]http://coloradomazdaclub.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif[/img]

I'm thinking we should setup a track day, or some sort of autoX type event, as pushing our cars is fun, but you're right, not at the risk or hurting someone else. I know a while back, there was a local club (mostly EVO's, WRX's & 350Z's) that rented out PMI for a day, which would be awesome, but we would have to have a good amount of interest to go through with it, as it isn't cheap.

I'm now down with work, depending on whether or not I get any calls. Figures, during the week, 2 calls/tickets came in. Today, 29. Ugh. I'm pissed, because I was excited to finally hit a nice local cruise. I know it's hard to get a lot of folks together, but hopefully we can do at least a mini meet before the holidays.

I'm glad everyone had fun, though! Y'all had a great day, weather-wise, for it.

^ I know. If that old S3 didn't have winter tires on maybe we could have had more fun on those twists. [img]http://coloradomazdaclub.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif[/img]
Those are nice pics Lee.

I didn't no Dan went sideways. Must have been when Lee, Josh and I got stuck behind that slow Land Rover.

A AutoX/Track day would be fun never been. Some thing different than the good old quarter drag.

Mini meat would be fun. If it's not during finals week. Vinny (LokoeBird) was saying we should get a little RX-8 only meet sometime. That wuold be kinda difficult since Half of us are here and half in the springs. A meet somewhere in the middle?

Best way to do this is to keep your ears to the ground and piggy back into a track day with another club. Figure on a track day costing about $150 per driver.

NASA holds track days as well, but they are more structured (certainly not a bad thing when it comes to throwing your car around a race track at high speeds) and you have to be a NASA member (something like $60 annually) and their track days also cost about $150 per driver.

I've got my factory wheels in my garage just waiting to get a set of Toyo RA1 race tires mounted to them and the brake calipers loaded up with some kind of race compound brake pad. My automatic 2.slow should still be a blast out on track.

nice meet some of the new folks. it was my first time taking the car into the hills so it was good I had the least amount
of power, otherwize I would've been in the ditch, creek or side of the mountain. The list of mods I need to add is growing.

nice pics lee, I will have to update my avatar now. [img]http://coloradomazdaclub.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif[/img]
