So, I'm here. My kids have finally started school, after 3 changes. I am technically homeless lol, since I'm living in a hotel. They had a hard time figuring out where they would go. Why is everyone so happy here??? Is there some happy pill I'm missing out on? I have been told my southern slang/accent, is cute a few times, which is...... odd. lol.

So which schools did you decide on. Jeffco/Douglas?

Jeffco for now. They seem really nice. We are looking for houses in Littleton, to keep them there, but to get what we want for the price we want (3 car garage for under 300k), we may have to look in Castle rock or Parker, which will put us in Douglas.

Where will the hubby be working? Castle Rock has some pretty good deals, depending on the commute. I live in Littleton (Leawood) but had to build the third (car) garage. My girls attend a charter near C470 and Kipling (Jeffco).

He is working in Littleton, around Quincey and Kipling. His family lives in the Springs, so we are driving there on a regular basis. So, Castle Rock would cut some o.f that part down. I would really like to live in Littleton, but unless I find a foreclosed house, I don't think there is a chance.

I like Littleton. It is three counties (Jeffco, Arapahoe and Douglas). Good luck with the housing search. We considered Castle Rock, before deciding on Littleton.

I wish! The houses I've been looking at in Aurora (The Farm subdiv) are close to double that.

Aurora catches a bad rap, but as with any town, there are the dodgy parts and the affluent parts.

We were finding quite a few with 3-cars off Arapahoe....in "Centennial/Aurora". Actually bid on one for $180k and were outbid by a mere $500. Otherwise we'd be living in a monster of a house for pennies:mellow:

There's the ritzy "Centennial/Aurora" and then the other 'economical' half. We were looking on the borders of the affluent parts, whilst being in the dodgy parts:lol:

Actually, I recall a 3-car going in the Ranch for just a smidge under 300k, tho I'm sure it needed some work. I'd LOVE a 3-car, but would opt (again and again) for a smaller house in a nice area, than the latter.
