Hello,
My name is Mark Misegadis. I am from Colorado Springs and am a new member to the Colorado Mazda Club forum.
The majority of my Mazda time has been spent behind the wheel of a friend’s GTX on the Ice.

I am preparing a standard 1988 Mazda 323 in “GT form” (Twin Cam/Turbo/2WD) to run up Pikes Peak. When completed it will have wide body flairs like the Berg Cup German hill climb cars. The car is currently disassembled and hanging on a rotisserie that I designed and fabricated with a friend. The majority of the seam caulking, sound deadener and undercoating have been removed with the help of liquid nitrogen. The cage work will be handled by Wayne Demonja who was formerly a Mazda factory sponsored racer in a Class 7 Desert truck. I am working out the tire/wheel choices now as that will affect the width of the car and flairs. I’ll be fabricating these flairs as well as composite replacement panels for this car.

I look forward to chatting with everyone here about Mazdas!

Mark Misegadis

I like rotisseries! Particularly the kind you use to cook food with.

Welcome and look forward to seeing some pictures.

Mark- Very cool. Will your 323 GT be Fwd or Rwd?
Also, I strongly encourage you to get in touch with Dave Kern:

Tell him I'm introducing you. Dave's run PPIHC several times and I think sent at least one record. Also, he used to run a few GTXs. Good guy!

Thanks for the welcome posts guys!

G-Man, Thanks for the introduction but I have known Dave for years. To your point though, he would be a good one.

Very sweet, can't wait to hear more!

How did you arrive at the choice of the 323 platform... (edit) nevermind, just read your answer in the "Mazda 323 hatchback WANTED" thread.

In which class will it compete in the hillclimb?

Hi,

Time Attack is where the car will run. This is flexible class that has been popular on the Peak in recent years. Initially it was added as a place for the Rally Cars to continue to compete after things changed with the move of Rally from SCCA to Rally America.
