New MS3 owner from the north

Postby Ryno49 » Tue Nov 29, 2011 9:14

Hey, just figured in proper forum fashion I should introduce myself. I'm up in the Ft. Collins/Loveland area. I work at a motorcycle dealership as a glorified parts monkey... So if anyone need anything, including helmets, hit me up.

I just picked up an 08 MGM MS3 on black Friday. I give it about a week before I start buying stuff I dont really need for it... But we shall see what happens.

It not like I dont already have other dumb toys. My garage houses my 07 Aprilia Tuono R(street toy/commuter/hooligan fun) and my 05 Suzuki DRZ400SM(Race bike/nothing left stock).

So hi to everybody...

Welcome! You should check out the speed 3 meet that's happening in Denver in January. Come see a bunch of modded 3's and get some ideas for yourself if you dont have some already.

Intake, rear motor mount, and short shifter. First 3 parts that you don't need but will make you love the car even more. :D

It had the intake already, cant decide which brand RMM to go with(I do need to crawl underneath and see if it doesnt already have one), and see previous statement about short shift.

There's a long list of goodies I'm deciding on... So we will see what happens

Welcome! I am also up here in Loveland.

What color is your Speed3? I saw a Cosmic Blue (I think that's what it's called) with painted black wheels bomb past me on I-25 yesterday around Mulberry.

You pretty much can't go wrong with any of the RMMs, but if they put in an intake and short shifter already, chances are good they did the RMM too. It's like a required mod on these cars.

So then you can move on to test pipe, turbo inlet, and an AccessPort to prepare for the intercooler and downpipe upgrades, lol.

My Speed is what that call Metropolitan Grey Metallic. The best way to describe it is greyish blue metallic... I work of off I-25 so if it was around 6ish that was me. (the wheels were painted when I got it.)

Another dealership had one with different rims, same color thought, that was the same color that I think sold, so it could have been that one. I got pulled over on Sunday night and the sheriff thought he had just given me a ticket 30 minutes earlier. He said it was the same car... down to the temp tags and wheel color. So who knows.... BTW I got a verbal warning for 10 over.

As for the Mods... Its not my first rodeo. I sold my 05 Legacy GT this summer before I got my Speed 3. That turd had up pipe, down pipe(both catless), Greddy full exhaust, Front and rear Cusco strut tower bars, Zeal Function V6 Full coilovers, AP.... I know theres more, but I dont half ### anything... I try and do it with my whole ###.... My bikes are the same way. So I just have to make my mind up as to what I want, and who owes me favors...

So dont worry, it will be 5 doors of front wheel drive fury soon enough...

I think the MS3 looks good in every color it was made in, but especially True Red. ;)

I think it was around 9AM. I spotted an MGM with black rims (looked like CX-7 rims but hard to tell when it was moving) on Horsetooth and Timberline a couple week ago, again, hauling ###.

So what made you go from a Legacy GT to an MS3? I only ask because I am considering both as a daily.

Cool, it was MGM I saw, I never knew there was a difference. Mazda and their silly colors haha.
