Out of curiosity, why did you get rid of an STi to get an MS3? Seems like a step down.

Yes, I loved my STi! I had a few mods on it...was running the Cobb AP maps, Invidia N1 TBE and a few other minor things. I loved the car, but I needed to shave a little $$ here and there and so I did.

Well, my payment went down $15/month, insurance went down $50/month for a total of $65/month in savings by switching between cars. I was shocked to see how much cheaper the insurance for a 2010 MS3 was over a 2006 STi. When you have a junior in college that your paying for and another about to start college very soon, every dollar helps. Also, the STi was coming up on 56,000 miles and the warranty was soon to be gone for the powertain. Obviously, this car is under warranty which is another plus.

It certainly was noticeably quicker than this MS3, but I'll live with this and like I said earlier, hopefully make a few mods in time to this one.

That seems like a great reason to trade. What color was the STi?

Out of curiosity, what college do your kids go to/will be going to?

The STi was CGM, Crystal Gray Metallic in color.

My oldest daughter is up in South Bend, Indiana. She was at Notre Dame on scholarship doing her Navy ROTC for the last two years...but decided she didn't want to pursue/commit to the Navy anymore and is now (without the scholarship) full time at Saint Mary's College right next door to Notre Dame.

Youngest wants to pursue Speech Pathology at CU Boulder next year.

Ah, yep, that'll do it. I got my MS3 because a new STi was slightly out of my price range. I love my MS3 but I'd definitely rather have an STi. But these cars can be made to be quick too and more mods are coming out for the 2nd gens all the time.
