So, When I get back to Colorado Springs in about 8 months. I am going to be looking for a good euro tuner shop. I am going to have to get my bodykit put on and painted along with my wing. I would do myself but this way if they screw it up they have to fix it. I am also going to be looking for someone to install my turbo, intercooler, and my NOS. Any one have the hookup with a good shop?

The one that I know of is in Loveland. It's called SCR Performance and they work on Euros quite a bit. I don't know of any in CO Springs but one of their techs knows quite a bit about rotaries surprisingly.

We do that kinda work ourselves around these parts! LOL Seriously though, this is stuff we can do, and we help each other a lot with our cars. Mod parties LOL. Just something to think about. I wouldn't knock you for still taking it to a shop, just giving you options.

i was the only euro tech at the shop but since i became manager theyve been strict about me working on cars at the shop.

anyways im not much on the tuner side of euros but more on the maintenance and repair side if that helps lol.

I usually end up having to do the work by myself. I've only had people show a few times.

Look Chris, I'm sorry I keep getting deployed when you wanna work on your car. LOL!! Seriously though, I will help you sometime too man. I don't remember ever hearing that you were working on it and/or needed help though. I must have been busy at the time because I love working on rotaries lol.

It does seem like everytime I want to start my car projects the Fing army decides it is my turn to deploy. LOL, Hell Yea I am down for a MOD party anytime I have the time.

What turbo kit do you have for your 8?

I had a GT3071R turbocharged RX-8 with a semi custom kit. I know all the tricks for getting a turbo into the tight confines of the RX-8 engine bay. It can be pretty tricky.

Bottom line, I wouldn't trust ANY shop to install a turbo on an RX-8. I can just about guarantee you NO SHOP in this area has ever even worked on an RX-8, let alone installed a turbo kit on one. There are some tweaks that need to made to most off-the-shelf kits (especially the GReddy) and it's very easy to install them wrong and mess something up, like your engine (ask gho8st about that).

I can also tune you once the kit is all installed. I HIGHLY recommend the Cobb AccessPORT, it's the best EMS option by lightyears.

I got an entire engine and transmission swapped out with the help of a couple people on this board. If you're willing to learn and put in some work yourself, there are people here that will help you get it done and save you money over taking it to a shop.

Oh dont get me wrong, I can do it myself I know how to do it all for the most part. I just like the idea if they break they pay to fix. instead if I **** up I have to pay for it myself.

Getting a shop to pay for something they break is usually a task in itself. Just ask "MSPSuperStreet" on the forum here

Installing parts yourself is always better, especially when it comes to a turbo kit. You WILL need to service/work on the turbo components, and you will have a MUCH better understanding of how things work and how they are installed if you did the install yourself with friends.

Not to boast, but I doubt ANY shop in Colorado has as much experience as myself when it comes to installing turbos on RX-8's.

Been there done that, RX-8 turbo install. Can be a PITA without a lift, I know. A slanted driveway with jack stands while it is snowing is no fun.

Damn dude in the snow, lol, I am not a cold weather person I am totally not into all the snow and stuff, I was in colorado last winter and thought I was going to freeze to death. Maybe you guys are right, doing it myself would be cheap and help with the maint of it.
